It was okay, the staff were very good although too many people kept coming in and drilling I don't want a new fancy radiator I can't even turn wait until summer please when no one is here... Also the "carpets" the kind that that looks like carpet but is very hard and it just doesn't feel right just put wood as the flooring, no need to try and be modern and also the bed headboards were not very comfortable very hard wood again no need for pointless "modern" styles if it's just straight up uncomfortable. Otherwise it was mostly good

The accommodation is comfortable and well maintained. It has peaceful environment with low noise levels (generally). Heating is good and bathroom is in clean and good condition. Reception staff is very friendly, and you get quick maintenance- you don’t generally need it. Overall, it is good accommodation.

Reception and all workers are LOVELY, but there is CONSTANT maintenance requiring people in your room and moving your things around for the changing heaters (which are TERRIBLE and did NOT keep the room warm AT ALL in the winter) and painting the walls so badly that you can tell where the new pant starts and ends (as well as dripping paint on the carpet and my things). Worse, maintenance have keys to your rooms, and I was walked in on when I was completely naked trying to sleep. Everything is being replaced, causing noise so bad that it sounds next door even if theyre drilling several floors up. It’s fine for a first year accomodation, and staff are lovely and kind, but the building managers clearly care more about what’s cheap for THEM and not at all about students.

This student residence is very practical. Staff are always available and eager to help, they often create activities during the week to allow the residents to meet and share a good moment. It is a quiet residence at night, and if it happens to be a little loud, you can tell about it freely in the groupchat (which is available in the Unite Student app). Laundry facilities can be accessed on with an app which allows us to see which washer or dryer is available. Overall, it is a great residency with great environment.

I understand safety work during term time and needing access to the rooms for safety reasons, but Unite decided to install new heating DURING term time. 2 weeks straight of drilling 9am to 6pm inside the building, excluding weekends thankfully. Even the receptionists admitted it sounded like it was right under/above you even multiple floors away. I was unlucky and had tests during this period, and it disrupted my studying. Then the next week more access to our rooms to paint the wall due to the heaters. They didnt tell us they'd need the whole wall bare and some stuff off the shelves, so now some of my items are damaged from where they were taken down, lovely. They called it an "upgrade", but judging by the amount of complaints of the new heaters not doing much to help the cold to warrant an email telling students to wrap up and buy an extra duvet and blankets like they all have the money to do so, tells me it was an upgrade to the company wallets and a downgrade to the residents living. You can clearly see it was in a panic to save money at the residents expense, hence doing it during term time and not waiting till summer. Doing this mid-winter in Scotland is nasty work. Receptionists are lovely (the only reason I even considered rebooking) and living here was kind of okay, bit pricey for what it is. But, if you book here keep in mind the people deciding things here do not have you in mind. It's a business at the end of the day, glad I didn't rebook Duo-posted to StudentCrowd for verifiability EDIT: Months later and another big upgrade requiring drilling for the boilers. During the week before finals and a week into finals. If you have a choice, do not book here. A student residency that doesn't seem to know their residents are students, ironic. I got an email when it was my flats turn, same day got an email for an interview for that day, so I have to go without showering. Common sense says do upgrades during the summer. Changed to 1 star.
