I stayed here temporarily and really enjoyed my stay. The staff were welcoming and helpful, I mostly got to speak with Carole who told me of some the socials happening at the accommodation. I went along to these and got to spend time with some of the other people staying there. This was a lovely experience and I liked getting to speak to people from different walks of life. It's a handy location to get by on foot or train. I would definitely consider coming back for longer!

Honestly, such a great find for a short-term student stay. I loved that it’s exclusively for students, it feels much safer and more comfortable than a regular hostel or Airbnb. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and I met some really cool people in the lounge area. Everything is super clean, and the staff actually understands student needs. It’s right in the heart of the student district, so you’re close to all the best spots. Definitely staying here again next time I’m in town. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I booked a short stay here while visiting some friends at the university and I’m really impressed. It’s strictly for students, which makes you feel right at home and safe. The common areas are cool, and it's so easy to meet people from all over the place. Everything is modern and well-maintained. Plus, having a grocery store and a gym nearby is a huge win. Definitely my go-to place whenever I'm in the city for a few days!

If you value your money and your sanity, stay away. Our ordeal started with a power outage on a Sunday night, August 10th. By morning, we still had no power and, even worse, no running water. The heat was unbearable, and I had to go all the way to my university just to use a toilet. Instead of a quick resolution, management's 'solution' was to give us a 2-day eviction notice. The "temporary accommodation" they offered was a complete joke and a breach of our contract, which promises a 'comparable' living space. They offered a shared-bathroom, shared-kitchen room very far from my university, a massive downgrade from the private studio I pay for. To make it worse, if you accepted this subpar option, you wouldn't get a refund. How is that not a scam? All my food in the fridge spoiled, a complete financial loss. The most insulting part? On the same day they kicked us out, power was restored but ONLY to the common areas like the gym. Who wants to work out when they're being made homeless? What truly makes this place unforgivable is the staff. When I politely asked the night staff for an update, I was met with shocking aggression and rudeness. Their crisis management is nonexistent; they are clearly not trained to handle serious issues. Instead of professional communication, they printed out memes including one saying "We'll miss you" and posted them in the elevators for all the residents being kicked out to see. A meme during a crisis? It was disgusting, deeply insulting, and showed a complete lack of respect. The incompetence is shocking. Do not rent here.

On 4 July- received an email from Student Roost stating that we had the option to either be fully refunded or move to a temporary accommodation (St Mungo’s) or start at a later date: 1 Oct 2025 - as there was electrical works going on. Then they emailed again after a month later, stating it is completed and we can choose again to move in on 6 Sept 2025 - Which I did. Suddenly, they emailed (5 Sept 2025- one day before moving in) at the very last minute stating electrical works are on-going again and to move into a temporary accommodation: CollegeLands. At CollegeLands it has been hell dealing with roommates who are loud and boisterous including making noises until 2-3 am. (Heres a feedback: if you're going to provide a temporary solution for us to move into CollegeLands - atleast allocate roommates with same personality, chronotype and maturity?) This to me seems like a shady business decision on management from Student Roost of Merchants Studios part. They should’ve been honest from the start right away. I do not blame the staff and workers who are extremely helpful and nice but the management: extremely unprofessional and shady. I will never recommend Student Roost to anyone. Not to mention no compensation whatsoever! It is a downgrade to me as I paid for my personal space like kitchen and no shared accommodation
