Address
1–3 Thurso Street
Glasgow G11 6PE
United Kingdom
The Glasgow Thurso Street location places you in the West End, one of the city's best-known student neighbourhoods.
University buildings, cafés, restaurants and public transport are all within easy reach, so getting through a typical week rarely involves travelling across the city. Whether you're heading to lectures, meeting friends after class or picking up groceries, much of what you'll need is already nearby.
The surrounding streets are also well known for independent restaurants and cafés. Sandro's, Madhras Dosa, The Brunch Club and Pescado Tapas are all close enough for lunch between lectures or an evening meal without venturing too far from home.
Students rarely look for exactly the same thing when choosing accommodation.
Some want the privacy of a studio, while others prefer sharing a flat and meeting new people during their first few weeks at university. For many, practical facilities and an easy commute matter just as much as the room itself.
Some of the reasons students choose halls Thurso Street include:
Choice of shared en-suite flats and private studios.
Electricity, gas, heating, water, Wi-Fi and contents insurance included in the rent.
Fully furnished accommodation.
Dedicated study lounge and printing facilities.
Cinema room, common room and shared social spaces.
Secure bike storage and on-site laundry.
Car parking for residents.
Secure entry, CCTV, on-site security and 24-hour security.
On-site maintenance team.
Living somewhere that already covers the practical side of student life leaves less to organise once the semester begins. Instead of arranging utility accounts or searching for study spaces, you can settle in and focus on university from day one.
Thurso Street student accommodation offers both shared en-suite rooms and self-contained studios, making it easier to find a room that suits your budget and preferred style of living.

Finding accommodation is usually a balance between location, room type and the facilities you'll actually use once term starts.
Thurso Street student accommodation offers enough flexibility to suit different ways of living, whether you enjoy sharing a flat or prefer having a place of your own.
If You Like Living With Flatmates
The shared en-suite flats give every resident a private bedroom and bathroom while keeping the kitchen and communal areas shared.
It's a good option for students who enjoy having company around the flat without sacrificing personal space.
If You Prefer More Independence
The studio rooms offer a self-contained setup with your own kitchenette, bathroom and study area.
Everything you need stays within your own space, which suits students who value a little more privacy during the academic year.
If You Spend Time Studying Outside Your Room
Sometimes a different environment helps you concentrate better.
The study lounge gives residents another place to work when they want a quieter setting or simply need a break from studying in their bedroom.
If Everyday Practicalities Matter
Laundry, bike storage, secure entry and on-site maintenance are the sort of facilities that quietly become part of your routine. They're not always the first things students look for, but they're often the ones that make life easier once you've moved in.
If You'd Rather Keep Budgeting Simple
Electricity, gas, heating, water, Wi-Fi and contents insurance are all included in the rent. That leaves fewer monthly expenses to keep track of during the academic year.

So even on the way to moving to the UK, I had no idea where I was going to be able to live. While the University of Glasgow handled my accomodation booking promptly, it was still rather tough feeling comfortable with the move. As soon as I arrived in Glasgow, I called the Unite Students team at Thurso street and they helped me get into my room without the least bit of a hassle. They made me feel safe swiftly. The team are the best and its a clean and safe place to live. Debbie is the best! I just wish the laundry was less expensive.

A terrible experience! During the year I moved in, scaffolding and workers were everywhere working on the exterior wall. They painted the exterior wall, shielded the view of almost all the residents in the past year and punched holes outside your windows many times a week, which was very noisy. The network, water supply and necessary repairs were very unstable. I asked them more than once to repair cracks in windows, but they didn't respond until I left.

The worst place I have stayed. 1.poor maintaince (I need to call maintaince 4 times in half a year because of poor facilities ) 2. Noisy (I can hear noise from my neighbours and outside everyday) 3. Poor customer service (staff are very condescending and not very polite) 4. They tried to overcharge us for maintenance and replacement cost (they charged us 178 pounds for a vaccum cleaner which original price is 139 pounds) To be honest, if I were their manager, I would feel shameful

Perfect location! It takes around 10 mins to walk to the uni, train or bus station. And the staff is friendly. However, it is not a quiet place to live. If you live in a room on the ground floor, you can hear the sound from the common room occasionally, and sometimes you can smell cigarette smoke. Also, it’s pricey compared to the size of the room. I recommend choosing an upper-floor level room if you want to live here.
Kristin
Friendly staff and great kitchen area with shared flats. The rooms are reasonable but smaller than what you may expect with the price. Full disclosure because I wish I saw someone write this when I was looking to move here - it is incredibly loud. You can hear what someone is doing just through the wall. Furthermore, you have a club called "Sanctuary" that is situated right next to the living facilities. On the weekends, the volume from the club is terrible. If you enjoy quiet spaces, I do not recommend living here.
