The environment is pleasant and quiet. The staff act very quickly to resolve unexpected problems, which is really heartwarming. The room is equipped with an independent washing machine, dryer, microwave and oven. All facilities are complete, clean and hygienic.

Rooms are the biggest I've seen in a student hall. Wired internet is good, but wireless is unstable and you cannot install your own router. Showers are okay. The washing machines are expensive and don't give change. Has a nice and reasonably priced car park.

I stayed in Kincardine Court during my postgraduate studies in Manchester. These are my personal opinion based on my experience staying in the accommodation: Pros: 1) The en-suite room I stayed in was really nice and spacious, there is a long, decently-sized table which is good to put things, and study on. 2) The room generally feels warm when the heating is not turned on, even during winter season. 3) The accommodation is relatively quiet and is mostly occupied by Chinese international students. I never really heard any parties going on in any of the blocks, so it is a peaceful accommodation choice if you do not like too much noise. 4) Accommodation is close to every thing that is necessary for students by foot: huge Asian groceries store - WH Lung Supermarket (less than 5 mins), Piccadilly train station (15 mins), The Vallance Centre - NHS (7mins), Royal Mail post office (15mins), and within reasonable walking distance to the university campus (5-15mins) - varies depending on where your course building is located. 5) The maintenance team in Unite Students is really efficient and responds to your issues well. I've had my shower clogged once, and the maintenance team rectified the issue one day after I logged in the problem in the Unite app. I've also had the kitchen fridge replaced to a complete new one after a complaint was made about the old fridge not being cold enough. 6) The team on-site is always friendly and helpful. The receptionist will collect parcels on your behalf during the weekdays, and you will be informed when a parcel has arrived. Cons: 1) I faced issues with the internet connection that Unite Students used which is Glide. I complained several times to the reception but was told that they could not do anything since the internet connection is controlled by a third-party, Glide, and unless there were sufficient number of complaints, Glide company will not actually pay a visit to the accommodation to have the issue rectified. As a result of that, I had to rely a lot on my personal data to get my laptop connected to the internet. 2) The windows in the room and kitchen only opens from upwards and the opening gap is really small which is frustrating especially when you want to air your room, or the kitchen, or get some refreshing cool air in during the hotter days. 3) The lighting in the bedroom is rather dim, so you'd need to get a study lamp if you are studying. 4) Unfortunately, my room is right above where the smoking area is, and there would be quite a few students who smoke weed in that area so I can smell it from my room since I am living on the 1st floor. That was quite annoying and a huge turn-off for me especially when I needed fresh air in my room. Make sure you enquire the floor plan of the accommodation before choosing the type of room and block you want to stay in. 5) The closet in the room is rather small and can only accommodate clothes put on a hanger. So if you have clothes that need to be folded you'd probably have to purchase a clothes hanging organiser or a separate rack. In conclusion, I was satisfied with my choice of accommodation despite the setbacks I faced because there were alternative measures to combat those issues. I would highly recommend staying here especially if being in a quiet accommodation is of high importance to you.

Good location + rooms well furnished. However, the building is built of wood which makes it really noisy. There is the constant sound of footsteps from the room above. Can only recommend if you get a top floor room.
