About this property
London is exciting, but it can also be exhausting if you're travelling across the city every day. That's why location usually ends up mattering more than people expect.
Stratford One London sits a few minutes from Stratford Station, one of London's biggest transport hubs. Universities across East, Central and South London become much easier to reach, and everyday essentials are already close by. Westfield Stratford City, supermarkets, cafés, restaurants and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park are all within walking distance.
Another reason students shortlist Stratford One accommodation is the variety of room options available. Shared en-suite flats are ideal for those who enjoy a social living environment, while self-contained studios offer greater privacy with your own kitchen and bathroom. As a popular student accommodation London option, it caters to different lifestyles and preferences, making it suitable for a wide range of students.
The Stratford area has changed enormously over the last decade. Today it's one of the busiest student-friendly parts of East London, with excellent transport links and plenty to do outside lectures.
Tube, DLR, Overground, Elizabeth line and National Rail services all meet at Stratford Station, so travelling across London is much easier than from many student neighbourhoods.
1 International Way
London E20 1GS
United Kingdom
London gets expensive quickly if every journey needs a train, bus or taxi. Stratford One London cuts a lot of that down simply because so much is already nearby.
Stratford Station and Stratford International are both within a short walk. The Central, Jubilee, Elizabeth, DLR, Overground and National Rail services all run from here.
UCL East, Loughborough University London, Birkbeck Stratford and the University of East London are among the closest universities.
Westfield Stratford City sits next to the building. Groceries, pharmacies, restaurants, cafés and everyday shopping are already there.
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is only a few minutes away if you want somewhere quieter than the city streets.
En-suite rooms and private studios give you different budgets and layouts to choose from.
Rent includes utility bills, Wi-Fi and contents insurance.
The building also has study rooms, a gym, a cinema room, shared lounges, secure entry and on-site support.
Living Around Stratford One London
Daily life rarely stretches far from the accommodation.
Westfield Stratford City is only a short walk away, so groceries, pharmacies, clothing stores and restaurants are already nearby. When lectures finish, many students head towards Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the London Aquatics Centre or one of the cafés around Stratford International.
Gym options are easy to find as well. PureGym Stratford London, Anytime Fitness Stratford, The Gym Group London Stratford and MARCHON Stratford all sit within the surrounding area.
The biggest advantage isn't any single place—it's having most errands within walking distance instead of travelling across London every time you need something.
Stratford One accommodation offers both en-suite rooms and self-contained studios. If you don't mind sharing a kitchen, the en-suite options keep costs lower while still giving you a private bathroom. Studios suit students who prefer their own space from day one.

Stratford One has perfected the art of appearing helpful while achieving absolutely nothing. Problems are acknowledged but not solved, complaints are answered but not addressed, and residents are listened to but rarely heard. After nearly a year here, my overwhelming impression is that management’s primary skill is explaining why a problem exists rather than fixing it. The building sells convenience, support and community. The lived experience is chasing updates, lowering expectations and hoping nothing goes wrong because you quickly learn how little urgency follows when it does. Do yourself a favour and find an accommodation elsewhere!

I highly recommend stratford one to all students. the views are amazing the staff are great. Special shoutout to grace who helps with every issue and really has made my expirence better. The flats are amazing i’ve made a lot of new friends. Overall 10/10 accommodation i am definitely staying again next year and the year after !

Quite honestly I wouldn’t recommend staying here to anyone. The one benefit was the proximity to my university, other than that, it wasn’t an enjoyable stay at all. The water from the taps and showers in the building is not safe to drink, the fire alarm goes off all the time, and when it is a real fire no one is properly informed, there’s no real evacuation plan, it’s everyone for themselves. The building just feels unsafe in so many ways. For my flat in particular, we had a singular window in our kitchen for almost our whole tenancy, although being told it was unsafe by facilities managers within the building, nothing was done about this until june of our occupancy. We were given no discounted rent or retribution. Overall, I would not recommend anyone stay here as I know i speak of a lot of others within the building!

Extremely disappointing experience with Unite Students – Stratford One. I have been waiting for several weeks for a response regarding a formal complaint I raised, and still no one has replied to my emails. Despite providing all supporting evidence, the team has been completely unresponsive. Every time I try to follow up, I get automated replies or no reply at all, which is incredibly frustrating for a student who simply wants fair treatment and timely communication. Even after paying my rent and all required administration fees, the building still sent my account to Redwood Collections, who kept chasing me repeatedly for money I did not owe. I provided clear proof of payment multiple times, yet the harassment continued as if they were trying to extract additional money. No apology, no correction — nothing. On top of that, I was charged for a pipeline issue that I cannot humanly control. I was told to pay for the cleaning myself or else I’d be charged £250–£300 for them to clean their own pipes as a part of maintenance that they should be doing, which is completely unreasonable. I also paid extra for a terrace room, which was essential for me because of my allergies and need for ventilation. Yet the terrace was closed for almost half the time I lived there, with the same excuse of “maintenance,” even though no one was actually working on it. I paid for an amenity that I did not receive, and my health was affected because of it. For a company that markets itself as supporting students, the lack of accountability, slow processes, and poor communication is shocking. I genuinely hope management sees this, because students deserve much better service and transparency. Would not recommend based on my experience.

I’ve been staying here for the second year now, and I honestly really like it. The location couldn’t be better – close to Stratford Station and Westfield, so everything I need is just around the corner. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and it’s a great balance between convenience and a relaxed atmosphere. What really makes this place special are the events they organize. They’re always fun and a great way to meet people – it genuinely makes the place feel like home. The staff are friendly, and the community vibe is something I really appreciate.
