Reception is staffed 24/7, and security is tight with CCTV and fob entry systems. So yes, safety and convenience are built into the experience.
The property doesn’t just cater to first-years. International students, postgrads, and even late-night library rats will appreciate the mix of private and communal spaces. Across my 3 year stay at Scape Canalside I have found the staff to be reliable, friendly, and attentive. The frequency of events and range of facilities available makes enjoying student life here genuinely easy and convenient. From well-maintained study spaces to the gym and social areas, everything is designed to make balancing academics and downtime stress-free. The team are always quick to help with any issues, and the regular community events are a great way to meet people and feel at home. Overall, it’s been a comfortable, well-run place to live throughout my time at university.

I had a wonderful experience staying here! The room was beautiful and offered an amazing view. The entire layout is very thoughtfully designed, especially for students having two stoves and two sinks makes everything so much more convenient and comfortable. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, both during the day and at night. A special thank you to Noely, Nadia, and Ismail for their friendliness and support they truly made my stay even better. I highly recommend this place!

I would put 0 star to that place if I could. I just want the semester to end so I can leave. No one is helping here. You need to pray every time you need to wash your clothes, because the washing machines may not work. This is very common. Of course when you report that they say “ohhh we can’t do anything we are not liable for the washing machines”. I made the payment 10 days ago. The money was out from my account and the transaction was fulfilled from the side of my bank. They told me that I responsible to contact their bank and sort out the issue. There is no cleaning service in the kitchen. Rooms are small and it’s soooo cold I’m getting sick once a month here because it’s by the Canal. I would change the accommodation if I could. It’s a nightmare. I even found a full time job to avoid being in here.

Lived here last year, the rooms are extremely cold and heaters turn off during the night. The wifi is terrible, half the laundry machines are routinely broken, and the services are generally poor. Staff harass residents about guests, but it still smells like pot. If not, it will smell like body odour, and most of the residents drawn to living at Scape are entitled, rude, and will not clean after themselves. If you are coming from QM halls, be aware that the level of service provided is much less at Scape, despite it being double the price. There is no value for money here. The cleaning staff will find any reason not to clean. My shower drain was broken for the better part of 6 months before it was fixed. Maintenance told me staff was aware of the problem since the building was constructed, but not only was the room let to me anyway, the residence manager attempted to gaslight me. He had also lied to me and told me our dishwasher was working, when he had come personally with my flatmate earlier in the day and confirmed it was broken (does he think we don't talk?). They did not release my security deposit for a month, and only when I emailed did they release it and pretend they had already done it. Very unprofessional. Staff of all levels will lie and deceive you. You will be much happy in a private lease agreement where you, at the very least, have proprietary rights over the property. Alternatively, if you (or ur child) need student accommodation, look elsewhere! PS: beware of any establishment like this one that has almost exclusively 5 and 1 star reviews. This is because they 'encourage' 5 star reviews with food and other 'rewards'.

Scape is amazing. There are events all around, diligent maintenance service (but you won’t need them, because everything is top-notch all the time!) and the facilities are perfect for a relaxing time. The staff are the highlight. They are always nice and offer all the help you need!
