Lilian Knowles House is a well-known student accommodation with a comfortable living environment. The building is clean, secure, and designed to support student life. Rooms are practical and suitable for long-term stays. The location is convenient, with easy access to nearby facilities and transport. Overall, it’s a good choice for students looking for a safe and supportive place to stay

- Some rooms are rather small, dark, noisy and would benefit from refurbishment. Given their high price tag, I do not think it is unreasonable to ask for a clean, comfortable mattress, a mould-free shower and effective window glazing. - Common areas are a little small for an accommodation of its size and there is a lingering sense of grubbiness about the place. - The attitude of certain, though not all, staff requires improvement. Night staff are often preoccupied with long telephone conversations on their personal phones. When addressing residents, their tone can be dismissive and sometimes aggressive or sarcastic. Expect an eye-roll and tut if you need help. - On the other hand, some staff, especially the cleaning staff, are sincere, kind and always jolly. They clearly work hard. Perhaps they should be offered the front-of-house position. - One-star might seem harsh on the surface. Though it’s important to remember that there are students whose entire families are contributing funds to give them a chance to live in this great city. LSE boasts many better (though equally expensive) accommodation offerings for students. I would advise prospective students to consider those first.

Unfortunately, this was the worst student accommodation experience I have ever had. During my stay there were repeated flooding issues, no proper heating during colder periods, and significant mold problems in the rooms. Basic facilities often did not work – at times the shower and lights were not functioning properly. What was even more concerning was the lack of security and organization. There were incidents of theft that appeared to be systematic, and the management response was extremely slow or nonexistent. For student housing, basic living standards such as safety, hygiene, and functioning utilities should be guaranteed. Sadly, this was not the case here. I would strongly recommend future students carefully reconsider before choosing this accommodation.

Extremely disappointed with my experience here. Several ongoing issues that management seems unwilling to address: Reception staff are consistently rude and impatient — even for something as simple as collecting a parcel. There’s no reason for residents to be treated this way. Maintenance is non-existent. A staff error caused the kitchen fridge to lose power for a full day, leading to severe ice build-up. I emailed requesting maintenance over two weeks ago and have received zero response — not even an acknowledgement.

It is absolutely pitiful that we have had so many problems with the hot water. Every week since the start of contract we have had no hot water for at least a few hours per week, right when we need it most (before class). Additionally the staff in the building and administration have been completely dismissing our concerns and critiques and have been rude throughout the process. Would not recommend LSE or any University or institution to sort their accommodation through this company.
