I’m not one to write bad reviews but I can’t allow others to experience what my friends and I experienced living here. Redpoint initially seemed like a good fit for my friends and I until we encountered issues constantly throughout the entire year. To start off with the amenities for the entire complex, the shuttle broke down the first month of school, leading us to take Ubers back and forth for a week. After they got a new shuttle we weren’t even guaranteed a seat as the space inside the shuttle has minimized significantly. Then throughout the whole year the pool would be shut down every now and then. I think this is ridiculous because we pay for these amenities and half of the time we couldn’t even use them. Now when it comes to our actual apartment our AC and heating CONSTANTLY had issues. We had to endure being in our 90 degree apartment on multiple occasions. We also never received any compensation or a refund on these services even though they never worked! Finally the management here is insane, you can’t even talk to an actual human. When you call them and have to talk to some AI bot that doesn’t have any answers to your questions. Whenever I had issues the managers were never on site and I always had to leave emails, again never talking to a real human. I have not re-signed my lease here for obvious reasons and we are now even getting emails that visitors have to pay fees to visit! Once again another money grab, this place just wants your money!! I will finalize this review by saying I really appreciated the maintenance team here as they did whatever they could to help us with what they were given. I also greatly appreciated the bus drivers taking us to and from school when they were actually able to.

Overall, I’ve honestly had a really good experience living at Redpoint San Marcos. Like any student housing, there have definitely been moments where I’ve gotten frustrated, but I think a lot of people expect apartment living to be perfect when realistically you have to stay proactive and advocate for yourself with maintenance and communication. In my experience, things do get handled when you stay on top of them. What I love most about Redpoint is that it genuinely feels more peaceful and homey than a lot of other student housing in San Marcos. I love the pool, the trails and nature areas in the back, and how pet friendly they are. One thing I really appreciated personally was being allowed to have a small raised garden on my balcony where I grow herbs and flowers because little things like that really made it feel like home to me. I also appreciate the safety aspect here. There’s security around the leasing office area 24/7 where the pool, gym, and study rooms are, and police occasionally patrol through the complex too. The guest parking system is also way better than a lot of places around here since residents can have multiple guest passes at a time that are valid for a few days as long as you register them properly. Overall, I’ve made a lot of really good memories living here and I’m genuinely grateful for my experience at Redpoint.

Read the other reviews. Stay somewhere else. They will try to charge you fees you've never agreed to and not honor their deals. The monthly rates look enticing but after all the fees, just add another $50-100 per month to the rent they advertise. The neighborhood is NOT SAFE. Cars being broken into and things being stolen from the balconies. If you try to speak to the manager, front desk pawns will just either say they have a meeting or divert you to talk to AI. Well-deserved low ratings. And if they are doing something shady, you should sue them. They become very responsive after.

Very bad place to live don’t recommend. They offer a shuttle but apparently it isn’t “included” so don’t expect it to run all the time. They have a pretty big pool but I wouldn’t know much how it feels because it was out of order until October. The places are not very clean, the gym and amenities honestly are not great and for the price you pay everything needs to be replaced and clean properly. A lot of bugs in the apartments on the first floors and I also have had to submit about 50 maintenance requests because of all the issues.

Absolutely awful experience. My younger brother lived here during his sophomore year at Texas State. The office never returned calls or replied to emails, the smoke alarm was going off consistently for days before maintenance finally came, they are charging for damage that was there when he moved in, and are absolutely unprofessional. Tori, the so-called manager, never responded to any form of communication and consistently sent out incorrect mass-emails to the community that were meant for other apartments. The college kids working in the office and answering phone calls cannot answer any questions or provide absolutely any information. They refer you to Tori who also will not reply at all. Don't live here. Not worth it.
