Living at Canvas Bristol has honestly been such a good experience. The location is ideal, super easy to get to uni, town, and Gloucester Road, so everything you need is basically on your doorstep. The best part though is definitely the team. They’re all really friendly and actually helpful. Any issues I’ve had have been sorted quickly and they’re always up for a chat at reception. It feels safe, well looked after, and there’s always something going on. Couldn’t really ask for more from student accommodation — would 100% recommend!

I moved out a month ago at the last minute due to many issues that I was informed by management would be unresolved during my stay. My flat struggled with rats (manager told me they’d never had a report of rats before but just scroll back through the reviews and you’ll see that’s a blatant lie), the noise was unbearable; a group of people would be out from midnight until 7/8am almost every night and then the building works would start at 7am so there was no break in the sound. The bin store was constantly overflowing so no wonder there were rats! The was a gross incompetence from the night staff and they always made me feel like a hassle if I needed something. After moving out I received a final moving out statement which stated that I would be refunded nothing for my disrupted stay so i contacted the manager who responded and said it was because they hadn’t finalised it yet- so why send a final move out statement? We’re now rapidly approaching the deadline to receive my refund and still no sign of it! They’ve also never answered the phone when I’ve called in the day- I could only ever call the night staff. To pay over £14,000 for a room, you expect standards. In my experience, you couldn’t pay me to stay here again. My uni work has been incredibly disrupted by the goings-on at Canvas. 100% do not stay here!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Canvas Bristol. I do not know whether I was treated unequally because of my skin colour, my race, my ethnicity, or some other reason. But what I experienced was deeply troubling and unacceptable. My concerns about personal safety, the security of my belongings, and the overall living environment were repeatedly dismissed, leaving me feeling unsafe and unheard. Instead of addressing these serious issues, the management continuously shifted responsibility onto me and insisted that I find a replacement tenant. This kind of treatment is unfair and reflects a complete lack of responsibility. When tenants raise concerns about safety and equal treatment, they deserve to be taken seriously, not ignored or pushed aside. I would strongly advise prospective tenants to think carefully before choosing Canvas Bristol, especially if you value safety, fairness, and respectful treatment.

Honestly, I loved living at Canvas Bristol. It was such a good vibe from day one. The staff are actually really nice and helpful, and whenever I needed anything it got sorted quickly without any drama. The location is unreal, especially if you’re at BIMM. It’s literally next door, which makes life so much easier. You’re also super close to town for shopping and nights out, and Gloucester Road is right there for coffee, food and cute independent shops. The building feels modern and secure, and I always felt safe there. It just makes student life easy.

I have previously visited this accommodation where my daughter stayed, and it was the best student residence in Bristol in terms of staff and all services. I loved the team working there. My daughter spent a full year at this residence, and I hope that if you have any offers for students, you will let me know so I can send my second daughter there.
