Yugo Crescent Place, southampton

As a resident who has lived here for two years, I have truly enjoyed my time in this apartment. The convenience is unbeatable—there’s a well-stocked supermarket right downstairs, and a bus stop next to the building that takes you directly to the Highfield Campus of the University of Southampton. The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. Whenever I have a minor issue in my room, I can report it through the app, and it usually gets fixed on the same day. The 24-hour security makes me feel very safe, and the city center is just a short walk away. I often go to West Quay to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. There’s also a lovely little park nearby. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, and the community organizes various events every month, through which I’ve made many friends. I live in a studio, which comes with an extractor fan and a small fridge, making daily life very convenient. I highly recommend this place! A special thanks to Lisa at reception—she is always warm, welcoming, and goes out of her way to help me. Love my live here!

I stayed at this place for one night two days ago with my girlfriend and it's one night I will never get back. The window did not open and there was no air conditioning. We did not sleep all night as we were only provided with a little desk fan which did nothing to help cool the room at all. It was unbearably hot. I rang reception for help in this matter and she suggested that we either move the mattress outside to the kitchen area or (after I informed her we were going out for some of the evening) a park bench to sleep on. We ended up taking her advice and moving the mattress into the kitchen area, which means we didn't even sleep in the room that we paid for. Furthermore, the shower did not unhook properly so I couldn't even wash myself correctly. This was one nights stay here. I can't imagine a student living here for the entire year under these conditions. Would avoid.

Avoid this accommodation – terrible handling of flooding and zero responsibility from management I strongly advise against choosing Yugo as your accommodation provider. During a serious flooding incident, their response was completely unacceptable and left us with a very bad experience. After the incident, they did not arrange any proper temporary accommodation for us. Instead, we were basically left wandering outside with nowhere to go. They also promised daily food allowances, but these have been delayed again and again – it has now been two months and we still haven’t received anything, nor any clear update. Many items in our rooms were damaged by the flooding. Yugo told us that everything would be handled through the insurance company, but when we contacted the insurer directly, they said Yugo had never followed up with them or replied to their emails. We have also been chasing Yugo about the money they owe us for refurbishment/repairs, but there has been no response at all. During the chaos, items in the fridge were thrown away without any notice to residents. Compensation has been talked about many times, but nothing has actually changed in practice. Some of my belongings went missing after maintenance work, and reception only said they would “compensate” us, without explaining how or giving any concrete solution. Doors to rooms and flats were left wide open, and security downstairs was ineffective – random people could still come upstairs. Cleaning staff even entered and cleaned the wrong room, throwing away personal belongings by mistake. Overall, the staff are not responsible, the communication is awful, and their handling of special incidents like flooding is extremely poor. Based on my experience, I see no reason why anyone should choose this accommodation.

I still remember the first time I entered the student's accommodation. I was looking only, and there was no knowledge of anything about housing, but the wonderful lady whose name was not there took me on a tour. Although I had no date, she taught me kindly and celebrated it. I decided to return to live here, and here I live and benefit from all the facilities that exist. I am very comfortable in this place, and the services and friendly employees are friendly. Thank you Hanadi
