About this property
A surprising number of students only realise what they wanted from accommodation after they've already moved in. It isn't always the biggest room or the newest building. Sometimes it's being able to leave for a lecture without checking a bus timetable. Sometimes it's walking to the waterfront after a long day or grabbing dinner with friends five minutes from home because nobody feels like travelling across the city. That's the kind of location Europa House Portsmouth offers.
Set close to Portsmouth Harbour and Gunwharf Quays, the building places university life, shopping, cafés and transport within the same part of the city. Instead of treating accommodation as somewhere you simply return to at night, many students end up using it as the centre of their daily routine. That balance between convenience and independence is one reason Portsmouth Europa House continues to attract both UK and international students looking for accommodation that feels practical long after move-in day.
Address: Havant Street, Portsea, Portsmouth PO1 3ER, United Kingdom
One of the best perks of living at Portsmouth Europa House is how much of the city you can reach on foot.
A lecture in the morning, lunch at Gunwharf Quays, a quick supermarket stop before heading back, or an evening by the harbour can all fit into the same day without relying heavily on public transport. Portsmouth Harbour railway station and The Hard Interchange are also nearby, making journeys across Hampshire or weekend trips home much easier.
Around Europa House, Portsmouth, you'll find plenty of places that students end up using throughout the academic year:
Gunwharf Quays shopping and outlet centre
Portsmouth Harbour Station
The Hard Interchange
Tesco Express and local convenience stores
Independent cafés and restaurants
Historic waterfront attractions
Regular local bus services
Students searching for Europa House student accommodation Portsmouth usually want somewhere central enough to enjoy the city without giving up a quieter place to come back to after a busy day.
Accommodation starts to feel different after the first few weeks. That's when you stop looking at brochure photos and start noticing the things that actually save time.
At Europa House Portsmouth, several small details add up over the course of the academic year.
Close to Places Students Already Visit
Instead of relying on buses for every journey, many students simply walk to lectures, Portsmouth Business School, Gunwharf Quays, cafés or the waterfront. Living close to these places makes everyday plans far easier to organise.
Choose the Space That Fits Your Routine
Some students enjoy sharing a flat because there's usually somebody around after lectures. Others prefer closing their own door, cooking in their own kitchen and studying without interruptions. The property includes both shared apartments and self-contained studios, so there isn't just one way to live here.
Bills Stay Predictable
Your weekly rent already includes:
Water
Heating
Wi-Fi
There are no separate utility accounts to organise after arrival, which makes budgeting much easier throughout the academic year.
Facilities Students Actually Use
Instead of filling the building with features that rarely leave the brochure, the shared spaces support everyday student life.

Security That Lets You Settle In
Students moving away from home for the first time usually care less about luxury and more about feeling comfortable walking back after an evening lecture. Secure entry, CCTV and an on-site management team help create that reassurance from the day you move in.
One of the biggest upsides of Europa House student accommodation in Portsmouth is that the room selection isn't limited to one style of living.
Shared apartments suit students looking for lower weekly costs and a sociable atmosphere, while the studios appeal to anyone who prefers complete privacy.

Every room comes furnished with a bed, study desk, storage space and internet access, while studio layouts also include a private kitchen and en-suite bathroom.
Moving into university accommodation isn't only about the room you'll sleep in. Some days you need somewhere quiet to finish coursework. Other evenings you'll probably end up watching a film with friends or squeezing in a gym session before dinner. The shared spaces inside Europa House make those routines easier.

I choose this accommodation with the hopes of getting away from the loud (most oftentimes dirty) university accommodation and I haven't regretted my decision once. It's beautifully clean here, with really good facilities and friendly reception staff available all hours. It feels really safe here and I love only sharing my kitchen with one person. This accommodation is perfect for older students or those that are more mature. It's in a really good distance from the uni itself, only a 10 minute walk (and even less for me). The rooms themselves are wonderful, big and have lots of storage space, and the beds are 3/4 doubles which is much bigger than single beds. All in all, I would recommend this accommodation to anyone and rate it very highly.

Building was well maintained, always tidy, frequently cleaned. Both the day and night staff were happy to go above and beyond to ensure my experience was up to an exceptional standard. The views from the building are among the best in Portsmouth. Stuart the manager and his team maintains a very well run building, if you ever need anything they are always there to help you out. Would recommend to any future students!

Definitely the best student accommodation in Portsmouth. The rooms are well furnished with everything looking very new and like it was recently refurbished. Staff are very friendly and always happy to help. Any issues get resolved quickly with no fuss. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to live in for my time in Portsmouth. Highly recommend :)

Great place for students to live. Less than a 3 minute walk from Gunwharf Quays & Portsmouth Harbour station. Management are very helpful and the common rooms & gym are kept in pristine condition. Definitely in the top 2 of student accommodations in Portsmouth and they are not number 2 ;)

Fantastic place to live. Especially if you're first year. I've applied late for my accommodation and turned out to stay at Europa. Despite late application there were no problems with getting a place. The staff is fantastic , great understanding of needs and difficulties in life which they managed to adapt and cater to. Especially Sophie and Andrew. Great family atmosphere especially if you're from far abroad, parties, movie nights, the staff at Europa are the quintessence of what accommodation managers should be like . Recommended 10/10.
