About this property

The Rackhay

The Rackhay Bristol Student Accommodation

Some students want accommodation close to campus. Others care more about having the city within easy reach. The Rackhay Bristol manages to offer both. Set in Bristol city centre, the property puts universities, public transport, supermarkets and some of the city's best-known social spots within walking distance, making everyday life that little bit easier once term begins.

Student accommodation The Rackhay is aimed at students who prefer straightforward, affordable living without giving up the advantages of a central location. The residence offers a selection of non-ensuite rooms, practical on-site facilities and all-inclusive utility bills, helping residents settle into university life without worrying about multiple monthly expenses. Whether you're moving to Bristol for your first semester or returning for another academic year, The Rackhay provides a comfortable base from which to experience both university and city life.

About The Rackhay

University life rarely follows the same routine every day. Some mornings begin with lectures, others with coursework, part-time work or meeting friends before class. Having accommodation that fits around those routines can make a real difference, and that's exactly where The Rackhay comes into its own.

The property offers a selection of non-ensuite rooms for students who are happy to share communal facilities while keeping accommodation costs manageable. Private bedrooms give residents their own place to study and relax, while shared spaces naturally encourage conversations and friendships with other students living in the building.

Daily life is kept simple through practical facilities such as on-site laundry, maintenance support and secure bike storage. Add a city-centre location to the mix and halls The Rackhay becomes a convenient choice for students who want to spend less time commuting and more time making the most of university life in Bristol.

A good location right in the centre of bristol next to old city, lots of food pubs and close to most clubs and gig areas with a good bus connections to get everywhere else in bristol and close to temple meads and UOB. The rooms are nice enough but given location its good value for money, the staff are very nice and theres a comunal area with free pool table sofas and a tv, theres also a study area that i havent used personally bc good if you cant be bothered to go to a libary. No ensuite rooms as far as im aware if thats a draw back, the views arent great either with a lack of sunlight but if that stuff doesnt bother you then is a good accom.

I’m very disappointed with my experience at Unite Students – The Rackhay and would not recommend it. Over a prolonged period I experienced repeated disturbance (including noise issues) and raised this multiple times with staff, including a meeting on 2 December 2025 and a formal complaint. Despite reporting the impact on my ability to rest and study, I did not feel the issues were resolved in a meaningful way. When my wellbeing was affected and I requested an urgent move or early release from the tenancy, I provided medical evidence (including a GP letter). In writing, management stated that “compassionate” early release would only be considered if I also left the university, and that otherwise I must find my own replacement tenant and they would only support the transfer process. They also said they would “further consider” my situation only if I could provide additional evidence from the university. Some of the team members are rude, they have different attitudes towards Chinese people. They don’t care Chinese people I can say. I am not the only one who is reporting the noises. Pls check my screen shot for ur reference, someone also reported the horrible noise after midnight. However, nobody cares. In my GP letter, the doctor clarified my mental health is clearly influenced but they still state I need to quit from the school or find a replacement. How horrible they are. They just want me to pay for the rent. They don’t care what I am suffering. The Rackhay is definitely not a good place to live. I strongly recommend international students find somewhere else to live, especially Chinese students, which is because they will never care about u and waste your time and energy. Here is awful. My advice: read the contract terms carefully before signing, keep everything in writing. Most important, find somewhere else if ur mental health is not good and need a quite space.

I had bad experiences here. So noisy even after midnight. I also think unites students is not considerable. My friend wants to move out and she asked suspension from school because she has no other choice.

First time I used just park and pick rackhay before it was near where I wanted to go and was cheap. Got to see it looks dodgy and run down but it was ideal. Safe secure gates on entry and secure gate to walk out. Donr Believe the neg reviews. I thought it was great.
