If you are a student looking for a safe, quiet place to live and study, please read this before signing a lease here. My experience has gone from bad to completely dangerous, and management has done almost nothing to fix it. Here is exactly what has happened: Constant Disruptions: From the very beginning, I’ve had to deal with non-stop noise and the odor of weed inside the apartment. Someone even brought an unauthorized dog into our shared space that smelled terrible, ruining the air quality and cleanliness of our kitchen and living room. The Security Gate is Broken: The community’s main perimeter gate has been broken and left wide open for a long time, at least five months. Anyone can walk or drive straight into the complex and up to the apartments at any hour of the day or night. If you live in a 2x2, any promise of a 'gated community' amenity is completely non-existent. Our Apartment Was SH0T At: Because of the lack of security, things completely escalated. My actual home was recently struck by a projectile. The police had to come out to investigate and document the physical projectile (🔫) holes left in the walls. Dangerous Guests in the Home: Right after the shooting, a roommate allowed a guest into our shared apartment who was openly carrying a gun with an extended magazine. Management has taken no action toward this and brush it off despite this being in complete violation of the lease. The Bottom Line: I am a student here, and I currently feel completely unsafe in my own home. Living with bullet holes and individuals carrying firearms through the kitchen goes way beyond a "roommate argument", this is a major safety crisis. Management has a duty to keep this property safe and enforce their own lease rules, but they have completely failed to act. If you care about your safety, look somewhere else because, in my opinion, they have shown to me that they only want your money and couldn’t care less if once they get you to sign the contract whether or not you can live in the apartment. Literally live anywhere else, even Forum which is down the street. No amount of maintaining a budget is worth risking your life or sacrificing your right to enjoy your space. ALSO: I am already in contact with management, they have all of my information including phone number and email in their system, I have kept them very updated on every detail and turned over all evidence and footage. If they respond with a generic reply asking me to email them, it is an attempt to save face and not at all solve any problems.

I am a current resident of The Capitol and recently reported an extremely serious incident involving a member of management. After coming forward, I felt dismissed and accused of lying rather than supported. My concerns were not handled with the level of professionalism, compassion, and urgency that I believe any resident deserves. Law enforcement has been contacted, and the matter is currently being investigated. Because of that, I will not discuss every detail publicly at this time. However, I am deeply disappointed in the way my complaint was handled and in what I believe was a failure to prioritize resident safety. Prospective residents should carefully consider how important management accountability and resident well-being are when choosing where to live.

I stopped by the front office of the Capitol recently with some questions and had the best experience with one of the agents. Esther is such a kind and reliable person. She’s always willing to help and does everything with a positive attitude. Her energy makes any environment better, and you can tell she truly cares about the people around her. She’s the type of person everyone enjoys being around.

I cannot in good conscience recommend this apartment community based on our recent experience. We were not permitted to see the actual unit before signing the lease because it was still occupied. Instead, my daughter was shown a beautifully maintained model apartment that bore no resemblance to the unit we ultimately received. When we arrived on move-in day, we were stunned by the condition of the apartment. The carpet was heavily stained, the floors were so worn that sections of the subfloor were exposed, and the entire unit was clearly unprepared for new residents. To make matters worse, the roommate assignment completely disregarded the preferences we submitted. My daughter and her friend, both STEM majors, specifically requested studious roommates who did not party or drink. Instead, we walked into an apartment that had clearly hosted a recent party—complete with visible bottles of alcohol. My daughter suffers from allergies and migraines. The smell of weed permeated the apartment upon inspection of the apartment. As it is a trigger for her, we had to quickly leave the premises. Because I live over 800 miles away and had to return to my home state, I had no choice but to immediately secure another place for my daughter to live. The unit was simply unacceptable and uninhabitable. Despite the fact that she never moved in or stayed there a single night, we are still being charged rent and utilities for this apartment. We have paid a reletting fee but it remains empty three months later. This experience has been incredibly disappointing, unprofessional, and distressing. I strongly urge prospective residents to demand to see the exact unit they will be leasing and to thoroughly inspect it before signing any agreement.

Esther is such a reliable and kind CA. She’s always professional, approachable, and willing to lend a hand no matter how busy things get. Her positive attitude makes every interaction pleasant, and she genuinely cares about helping residents feel comfortable and supported. You can always count on her to get things done efficiently and with a smile.
