I have lived at Currie hall for the past two years and it has been an immensely positive experience. Everything from the new utilities to the gym has been wonderful. A special thanks to Theo who has been truly wonderful in assisting me with any questions and concerns that I have had. He is the best and if you have anything you need he is your guy. Truly inspirational and he epitomizes dedication and top notch customer service.

It’s a great place to live. Very safe and the safety is maintained by the multiple key-enabled entrances. The maintenance staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The only problems I can think of are might the lack of food places nearby (like 3-4 eateries) ; and the train (if you live in phase 2) which might be bothersome if you get disturbed by noise easily.

Currie Hall has decided that they care more about your MONEY than the actual needs of the tenant. I have been dealing with constant issues for the past year that is point blank unacceptable for a fairly new complex. The closet rack in my unit collapsed more than a WEEK ago and nothing has been done. I’ve had to miss class and my internship due to injury from the closet rack collapsing on my neck and my back. The rack was installed with inappropriate screws (Code Violation) and there are SEVERAL CODE VIOLATIONS in my unit alone. The broken closet rack has YET to be removed from my unit and ZERO temporary solutions have been made possible by Currie. They have taken ZERO accountability for what has been going on. On top of the closet. My sink is STILL detached. My fridge has yet to be FIXED and so many other things that have occurred. Err on the side of caution when moving here. Their practices are PREDATORY. They can BREAK their OWN lease terms but you as the tenant have to continuously pay.

The front desk staff is always very helpful. I lost my key when I came back after break, and Theo helped me get a new one right away. He’s always there when you need him, whether over the phone or if you stop by the front desk, and is consistently kind and veryyy helpful. Thank you, Theo!

I lived at Currie Hall for a year and a half. While there are some positive aspects—such as the convenient location and relatively new facilities—there were also several significant issues during my time there that made the overall experience less than satisfactory. First, the location may seem ideal due to its proximity to Lincoln Park, but every afternoon there are freight trains running through the area. This not only makes driving extremely inconvenient due to blocked roads, but the noise from the trains is loud enough to be heard clearly even in Phase 2 units. It significantly disrupted our daily life especially for our sleeping. Second, package security is poorly managed. One of my deliveries was stolen, and when I reported it, the management brushed it off and refused to take any responsibility. There was no follow-up or effort to improve security for future incidents. Third—and most disturbingly—earlier this year, a resident in Phase 2 tragically passed away by suicide. Shockingly, the management did not discover this until two months later. It was deeply unsettling to learn that we had unknowingly been living in the same building as a deceased person for that long. What’s more troubling is that the management showed no accountability or compassion in addressing the incident. There was no formal communication or acknowledgment provided to residents, leaving many of us feeling uneasy and disappointed by their lack of responsibility. Additionally, although the lease is advertised as covering 12 months, in reality it only covers 11.5 months. This means the actual monthly rent is higher than what is listed on the official website—an important detail that is not clearly communicated upfront. Lastly, after moving out, I was charged an unreasonably high cleaning fee, which felt unfair and excessive. I hope the management will take these concerns seriously and respond appropriately. I’m open to further communication if Currie Hall is willing to address these issues.
