As a student at JMU, living at 865 East has honestly been one of the best parts of my college experience. The location is super convenient for getting to campus, and the community here actually feels welcoming and fun instead of just another apartment complex. There are always events going on and it’s really easy to meet people and make friends. The staff here are amazing too. They’re always super friendly, helpful, and actually care about the residents. Any time I’ve had a question or needed help, they’ve been quick to respond and made everything really easy. The maintenance team is also incredible — they’re fast, professional, and get things fixed right away, which makes living here stress-free. The amenities are a huge bonus as well. The rooftop views are beautiful, there are great study spaces when you need to focus, and the lobby is such a fun place to hang out with friends. If you’re a student looking for housing near JMU, I would definitely recommend 865 East. It’s modern, social, and just a really great place to live during college.

My girlfriend and I have had a wonderful experience at 865!! We start with our daily trip to Biggby coffee, probably the best coffee ever right down the street. They’ve kept the new gym very functional and clean, and I approve of the variety of gym equipment. They have really friendly staff, as well as helpful managers. This place is definitely a vibe, and you can’t beat the location and views🫡 I can’t wait to see what post/renovation looks like👍

Just signed here for fall move in. Betty was great at explaining everything I needed to know especially as a freshman who has never made a decision like this. She was patient and super nice. I also love the renovations they have done you can tell they care to provide what residents truly needs.

The apartment should have a system to cross-check license plates and confirm permits before authorizing a tow. Basic verification would prevent situations like this. As a resident who pays to live and park here, I expect oversight and accountability.

I pay for a monthly parking permit. My car was still towed even though the permit was valid. That should not happen. I was treated like I did not belong where I live. Towing is done under the property’s authority, so this falls on management. When I tried to address it, I was yelled at and spoken to disrespectfully. That made the situation worse. I pay to live here. I expect basic respect and fair treatment. Fix the towing process. Make sure permits are checked properly. And handle issues with residents in a professional way instead of escalating them.
