The Crest, bloomington-in

I’ve lived with the League for about 1.5 years now. I was first in 10 North and now I'm in The Crest. Overall, it’s been an amazing experience. The properties are always clean and well-maintained, and both of the locations are incredibly convenient. It's so close to downtown and campus. The management team has always been responsive and helpful. They give a lot of personal attention to tenants. I would love to mention Phil Baney, the maintenance supervisor and, now, Property Manager. He was super quick and responsive to any requests. Sometimes, he would come by within an hour or two and got the job done. He always answers questions and does his best to ensure you have a good experience here. This is a great place for anyone looking for a comfortable, centrally located place with friendly management.

I noticed that several of these reviews are old and that many of them pertain to previous management. I am writing to share our experience with new management. So far, our experience with them has been fantastic, especially our interactions with Sarah. In our search process, she was helpful and informative. She was also extremely patient as we had many, many questions, and we went through several iterations of apartment choices. At this point, we feel good about our daughter being housed at The Crest, and we look forward to her being able to write a glowing review in June 2024 of her experiences living there. While the apartment itself is a nice unit, the management is an absolute nightmare. There had been multiple building managers in my two years living there. They will charge you a prorated rent at move in, but then charge you a full month's rent at move out, even if your lease ends before the month is over. I tried to fight this, and they claimed that I actually owed them a fully month for both July's and that they were "doing me a favor" by not charging me the $800 I owed. They kept manipulating how to interpret the lease so they can overcharge you on rent. Additionally, I left a spotless apartment (with photo proof) aside from some nails in the wall. They kept my whole security deposit for the holes and a cleaning fee (despite my photo evidence of an apartment I spent two days cleaning after all of my stuff was moved out). Wifi was out multiple times, the hallways were always dirty/smelled of weed and honestly the units aren't nice enough for the cost of dealing with management. Save your money, time and sanity.

I lived here for 3 years and had a great experience. The units are upscale and among the best in Bloomington. Nice downtown location without being in the noisy/busy bar area. I would give it 5 stars but parking is an absolute nightmare. They charge you an exorbitant amount for a reserved space, yet the lot isn’t well monitored and visitors are often parked in reserved, paid, resident spots. The management office (it changed 3 times in 3 years) is fine but when it comes to parking it’s not their problem so they just don’t care.

Lived there 2 years, horrible management. Forget about your security deposit. When I moved in apartment was was in bad shape, paint all over floor not clean. When I moved out I cleaned everything in better shape then I took it. Still they took everything out of my deposit. I will not recommend this place.
