Cedar Pointe Apartments, blacksburg-va

I enjoyed my experience living in Cedar Pointe. The apartment was clean and quiet. I stayed here for around 4 years. Management in general was quite professional. My apartments came furnished and with WiFi in the rent which helps in terms of the rental policy. I thought the checkout process and security deposit refund was equitable. Please read your lease as they are strict in terms of the towing policy. Great location in front of the mountains.

Our three years at Cedar Pointe were amazing. My wife and I stayed here during out time at Tech. I honestly have nothing to complain about from leasing office staff to amenities included. We moved in on September 2022 and moved out just recently. Every year we planned to move out to a different place in Blacksburg we ended up staying in Cedar Pointe because it is simply the best in Blacksburg. Staff were amazing. Maintenance folks were the best and they addressed our complaints promptly over the years we stayed here. The events and activities Cedar Pointe Held were memorable. I highly recommend staying at Cedar Pointe for both single and married couples.

I lived at this property for about two years and, overall, it was a relatively positive experience. Maintenance was responsive and helpful, and some of the front office staff handled concerns with care and professionalism. However, I did experience significant leaking issues on the 4th floor that impacted my stay for a noticeable period of time. While the issue was eventually partially resolved, it highlighted potential flaws in the building’s infrastructure, particularly regarding roofing and water damage prevention. I’ve included photos to show the extent of the leak. I hope future improvements are made to prevent this from affecting other residents.

Parents/guardians - DO NOT lease here. They care about their profits and greed over the safety of your loved ones. You’re getting charged upscale pricing so you would assume a higher quality experience, right? No this is another student slum property with bugs and attempts by management to extort residents when moving out. What’s worse, we had a dangerous safety issue take place here where police were involved. Jason and team did not care for the safety of students at all. We raised the safety concerns immediately. They did nothing. Eventually police were involved. They asked for police reports. We gave them the police reports. And still they did nothing. They care for nothing but collecting their rent and trying to nickel and dime when moving out. Despicable behavior by Jason and management to disregard the safety of residents who are mostly young students. Especially considering the owner sits on VT Board of Visitors.

If I 0 stars was an option, that would be the score. My son stayed here during his time at Tech. Management is NOT very friendly towards minorities. Constant marijuana smell throughout the hallways. Abby in the front office placed me on what she thought was “hold” while I overheard “Please! No more foreigners today.” When requesting for management, the property manager is never available and avoids voicemails. Glad my son has left this property. Would not recommend leasing here.
