About this property
University life quickly settles into a routine. You head to lectures, stop at the supermarket on the way back, grab coffee with friends, spend evenings finishing assignments, and somehow fit laundry into the week. Having accommodation close to all of that saves far more time than most students expect.
Ben Russell Court Leicester makes those everyday routines easier. De Montfort University is only a short walk away, while Leicester city centre, local shops, cafés and transport links are all nearby. Ben Russell Court accommodation offers shared rooms, en-suite rooms and private studios, so you can choose the setup that suits both your budget and the amount of privacy you want. Bills are included, rooms come furnished, and the shared facilities give you places to study, relax or spend time with friends after classes.
Address:Student Castle Ben Russell Court, 35 Grasmere Street, Leicester, LE2 7PT
Ben Russell Court accommodation is on Grasmere Street, a student-friendly part of Leicester with university campuses, supermarkets, cafés, bus stops and the city centre all nearby. Day-to-day errands take very little planning, and regular buses make it easy to travel across the city when you need to.
Your accommodation becomes part of your routine within the first week of university. Walking to lectures, picking up groceries, meeting friends after class or finding a quiet place to study all become everyday habits. Ben Russell Court student accommodation Leicester keeps those routines simple without pushing your accommodation budget too high.

The University of Leicester is easy to reach by bus, bike or on foot.

Many Ben Russell Court reviews mention the convenient location and value for money.
The room options at Ben Russell Court accommodation cover different budgets without making the choice complicated. Shared rooms cost less if you're happy using communal facilities, while the en-suite and studio options give you extra privacy.

Assignments don't always have to be finished in your room. The study lounge and meeting room are useful when you need a quieter workspace or somewhere to work on group projects. After classes, many residents spend time in the common room, games room or courtyard before heading back to their flats.
The gym, laundry room and bike storage cover the practical side of daily life, while secure entry, CCTV and the on-site team help the building run smoothly throughout the year.
De Montfort University is the nearest campus to Ben Russell Court Leicester, so walking to lectures is a realistic option for many students. Leicester College is also nearby, while local buses connect the accommodation with the University of Leicester and Leicester Medical School.

Where do I even start?!? I moved out a nearly a year ago but I have to voice my concern! DO NOT GO HERE!!! 1. Had to move in during the summer due to a job I couldn’t leave, that was a hassle to get in. I had to move in during a weekend, I emailed to ensure that I would be able to move in, reception said YES!! I arrive on the Sunday to a security guard who would NOT give me my key despite being showing MY TENACY AGREEMENT, the email confirming id be moving in as well as the time slot of my move in day. Reduced me to tears before I was allowed in my room but was not given my key. 2. I was asked if I wanted an “all girls flat or mixed flat”, I asked for ALL GIRLS flat only to be told last minute that a man would be living there!! He did not make me feel comfortable at all. Very misogynistic and bossy! 3. When I moved it was disgusting. Food all over the kitchen floor and counters. Bin had not been taken out so was moldy with flies!! Trying to get my roommate to take out the bin was a BATTLE that I could never seem to win! Nothing had been cleaned in preparation. 4. Was followed by a man into the elevator who then to my flat door WHO THEN TRIED TO OPEM THE DOOR BEHIND ME!! Luckily I sensed something was off and locked it behind me! When I rang the security guard he asked “has he left?”. I said yes as I didn’t see him through the peep hole, security replied “then it shouldn’t be a problem” then HUNG UP on me!! Woman are not safe here as multiple men has comments towards me/followed me!! 5. There was a water leak problem that lasted WEEKS with no help whatsoever. Took them weeks to fix. Luckily I only had 1 leak above my door however my friend has multiple leaks that nearly damaged her expensive equipment and personal belonging. Even nearly ruining her final uni project! 6. BEDBUGS!!! I had gotten bed bugs from an unknown source (pest control say they are “hijackers” and can come from public transport or second hand clothing). I spent SO much money cleaning my bedding every time I saw them and was given compensation when asked. Took them DAYS to get pest control out. Some days not even showing up when reception confirmed they’d be coming. I’ve had to throw away NEW clothes and lot of personal items in hopes I did not bring them home. As far as I’m aware this is a a ON GOING PROBLEM!! The daughter of a friend moved in few months ago and had to move out because it’s still a problem!! 7. DO NOT expect your deposit back!! I had to fight tooth and nail to get my £150 back. I had confirmed over email that I would not lose my deposit due to the bedbugs, they said my deposit would be in my bank account within 7 days…nothing. 2 MONTHS go by with nothing!! I am ringing the front desk EVERY HOUR FOR 5 DAYS STRAIGHT!! The only conversation I got was after explaining the situation was “I’ll grab my manager and give you a ring back”. NOTHING!! I had to fill in a declaration form to say the accommodation had not gotten back to me about my money, which I had to get a SOLICITOR for!! A DAMN SOLICITOR!! I HAD TO PAY FOR A SOLICITOR!! I eventually got my money back after 4 MONTHS!! It’s safe to say that the reason the rent is so cheap, is because the place is cheap!!! Only a handful of staff were nice! The blonde lady that did some maintenance and the dark haired lady!! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!

Extremely Unsafe and Pathetic Management I am an international student and moving into Ben Russell Court has been the worst decision of my life. This accommodation is completely unsafe. There is a constant, heavy smell of cannabis (drugs) roaming around the corridors and flats, and management does absolutely nothing about it until things get out of hand. A student living in Flat B07E was constantly creating issues, using illegal substances, and the reception manager completely ignored my initial complaints. Because of the manager's laziness and careless attitude, that individual got confident and viciously attacked me in the shared kitchen. He brutally beat me up a lot, leaving visible injuries and bruises on my body. Police had to be called, and an official warning was issued to him. Only after a violent physical attack took place did the management wake up. If you care about your safety and life, DO NOT book a room here. The staff does not protect students until you are beaten up or bleeding. Disgraceful service.

I am currently staying here on my own and having a good experience. The location is very convenient, especially for students, with easy access to the university and nearby shops. The room is comfortable and suitable for daily living. Overall, it’s a nice and peaceful place to stay, and I would recommend it.

I cant give 0 stars or negative I cleaned other people's mess in the kitchen in the beginning and then gave up. I clean others pee regularly so that I dont get a uti I cleaned someones poop twice. My cycles pedal got broken by the staff. My cashback is not being given and I guess deposit will be the same case. The assistant manager, manager and student advisor will say different things and play their own twisted game. I got hot potatoes and not given entry the first week and I had to pay to stay somewhere else. I also paid for the week in question even though I didn't stay there. Security and receptionist messed with me. The staff pretends to care about wellbeing in a flat but doesn't. I got told that toilet seats dont give uti. Multiple fires in a few months. Arrears messages even though you pay a bill. I can go on.
