I’ve lived in summit house Cardiff for the past 2 years. Most of the staff are lovely, helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the main point I have about this accommodation is the fire alarms because they are an absolute joke. I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve never heard a fire alarm go off so many times in my life. They go off multiple times a week - sometimes multiple times a day - and staff sometimes forget to reset them after turning them off. This leaves every alarm in the building beeping every few seconds indefinitely. Despite me informing the staff using the app and going to the desk multiple times this can last hours. On one occasion this happened in the evening and no staff member was able to reset them and this left every alarm beeping throughout the whole night. One of these is right outside my door which made sleeping impossible. The fire alarms will also go off in the middle of the night too. Not only are the constant fire alarms extremely annoying and stressful, but they are also incredibly dangerous. When evacuating the building only a handful of students will evacuate with me because most people assume there is no danger because we’re all used to the alarms going off constantly. If a real fire were to happen this would be a horrible situation - a situation that would be easily avoided if the fire alarms didn’t CONSTANTLY go off all the time. I’ve brought up these alarms to the staff, but they seem uninterested in sorting it out. In fact, there has been no apologies or even acknowledgements of this blatant problem. I wish I wasn’t even writing this review, but this is such a glaring issue that potential tenants have every right to know about. My friend tells me the fire alarms in Windsor house go off frequently as well. Highly recommend living somewhere that’s far less annoying and dangerous. Cannot wait to move out.

Absolutely great location if you go to Cardiff Uni. There are grocery shops, malls (st davids), fast food restaurants, banks, salons… you name it. It has everything in one place and easy to find your way around. In terms of the rooms, they are very spacious in comparison to Windsor House. Windsor House is a waste of money, I’d suggest to stay at Summit instead. The rooms itself are spacious, windows are larger and the stove is bigger. The walking space is also 10x bigger. Summit has laundry room downstairs but you can alway do it at Windsor if you wish to. Summit in general is way cleaner than Windsor. The hallways are so dirty at Windsor and smells awful. You can also use the gym at Windsor House too. There are no staff in Summit as the reception is at Windsor but either way the Windsor staff are generally nice if they in a good mood.

Friendly staff, nice & bright rooms, and an overall great location no matter what University you go to in Cardiff. Pleasantly surprised with the detailed tenancy agreements and their flexibility with payments. Communication has always been effective with reception (over at Windsor House), which has definitely made the accommodation better than your average university halls of residence.

AWFUL - dirty and unsafe, more than once a stranger has been able to gain access to the building, I understand it is in the town centre but this should mean extra care and security is taken. The room hadn't been cleaned before moving in, the cleaner came twice and still had to clean the room myself. Worn down and uncared for, moved here to save some money, can see why it's cheaper now. Raised these issues directly to them and they still haven't improved anything. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

For a first year place to stay, I'm beyond happy that I chose Hello Student Accom for it. The staff are incredibly helpful and easy to talk to. Re-applying to stay again for my 2nd, and maybe even 3rd year. Thanks to the staff in Windsor House for making it such a pleasurable place to stay!
