It gets the job done. If you're looking for somewhere to cover your basic needs, this place works. That said, I'll be honest. I was on the first floor near the main street and it's loud. I'm talking constant noise, sirens, police pulling people over right in front of the building. Pretty regular thing. The homeless situation in the area is real too. Didn't love that part of the experience. One thing nobody told me before moving in, you can't take a hot shower without setting off the fire alarm. So just be aware of that going in. The overall quality of the apartment isn't great. I had a roach within my first couple of days there, which wasn't a good sign. Maintenance was always on hand though, I'll give them that. They respond fast. But they will charge you for random things, so keep your eyes open on that end. If you're a student it's actually a solid spot because of how close it is to campus. That's probably the biggest plus location-wise. The gym is nice though. Pool is great. Those two things I genuinely enjoyed. Overall I didn't love my time here. Wouldn't say it's bad, just not somewhere I'd rush back to. Know what you're signing up for before you move in.

I recently graduated and lived here during my time as a student, and I had a really great experience. The apartments are nice, the location is convenient for students, and the staff is always helpful and friendly. It felt like a comfortable and safe place to live while finishing school. I’m really glad I chose to live here and would definitely recommend it to other students!

Don't stay here... There's a reason for its low rating. I moved in here three years ago—it was the decision I regret the most. First of all, the quality of the house is surprisingly poor. Building A offers absolutely no sound insulation. The walls are completely hollow. Whenever a vehicle passes along the adjacent road, you are subjected to a deafening roar—a true form of torture when trying to sleep at night. In fact, when particularly large vehicles go by, the entire building even shakes. Not to mention that you can hear your roommate playing video games and cooking at any time. Secondly, the apartment management charges for absolutely everything. Clogged drain? There’s a fee. Burnt-out lightbulb? Another fee. Curtains fell down? You get charged again. Even though 99% of these issues stem from the substandard quality of the cheap fixtures and equipment used in the building itself, they invariably insist that it is *your* problem. The actual unit looks completely different from the model apartment—it is filthy. You need to make sure to take photos of every single corner so that the apartment management cannot accuse you of dirtying the place after you move in and subsequently demand payment from you. The room is infested with an endless number of cockroaches and flies—you need to be prepared. Most importantly, the apartment management will use all sorts of excuses to make you pay various bizarre fees; if you argue with them, they will issue you a "3-Day Notice to Fix or Quit"—threatening you into compliance. They will use all sorts of abstruse legal provisions to intimidate you and force you into submission. The surroundings of the apartment complex are absolutely abysmal. Although it is located close to the school, it feels like a completely different world. Homeless people frequently loiter downstairs, and cars in the parking lot are often vandalized or stolen—yet the apartment management turns a blind eye to the entire situation. All in all, the only advantage of this apartment is its proximity to the school. If you haven't signed the lease yet, run—and don't make the same mistake I did.

This place is probably the closest to campus and one of the best complexes around tbh. The office staff was very helpful and welcoming and their events are always a great time and makes you feel involved as a resident. Maintenance was always so fast with my work order requests and they also update you so you’re not left in the dark. They’re pretty straightforward when it comes to charges too. Not sure if Victoria still works there but shoutout to her because she always answered every stupid question I had as if they were normal questions lol. Overall, this place is great and definitely worth more than 5 stars.

I lived at Alight Riverside from 2022 to 2025 during all my college years. I gotta be honest, at first I HATED it. My move in was terrible bc the unit was dirty, and the old manager Karina wouldn’t help me with anything. I was 18, first apartment, super stressed, nd thought I made a big mistake signing here. The only reason I stayed is bc of the staff. Riley was the one who really helped me from day one. He literally answered every single dumb question I had and made sure stuff got fixed in my unit. He’s honestly been the one constant through all 3 years. Now that I’m graduating and moving out, he’s still answering all my million questions → full circle moment. I had ups and downs with Alight for sure, but the community was solid and the staff really kept it real. Kevin is super straight up with move out fees and billing so you’re not blindsided which I liked, Ana is cool too, but Riley is the standout since he actually cares. He’s just super nice, patient and actually cares about the residents. I feel like that's the key! I’ve literally seen someone scream at him and lose it (my old neighbor lol), and he stayed calm and de-escalated the whole thing. Most ppl would’ve crashed out but not him. He’s gone out of his way after hours to help me and I’ve seen him do the same for other residents too. That’s rare in property management. What makes Riley the GOAT is he doesn’t just “do his job” he actually makes living here better. Talks to residents and makes friends with them, introcudes you to other residents so you can make friends. I mean when you are a first year, you don’t know anyone yk so that helps a lot. He treats everyone like a person, not just a tenant, and that’s why ppl like me ended up sticking it out and actually enjoying Alight. Dude really cares about the community and it shows every single day. Rent was fair for what you get and honestly I built some of my best college memories here, living with my best friend and meeting people I still talk to today. Alight was a good experience bc I lived w my best friend, rent was cheap, and Riley was cool. So if you’re a UCR student looking for a place, my advice is check out Mission Lofts first but if they’re full, Alight is honestly not bad at all. Just know the real MVP there is Riley.
