The Flats at Norman, norman-ok

I've been living here since August and have been very pleasantly surprised by this little community. First, I am very grateful for the roommates I have been assigned as this was one of my biggest worries before moving to a new state. The Flats' roommate assignment service was great in matching me with roommates who share the same ideals as me. I would also like to shoutout the maintenance team who is so quick to fix any sort of issue I have had in my or my roommates' rooms. On a similar note, the front desk staff at the clubhouse has been just as helpful in making sure I have all my questions answered clearly. The amenities here are also great and super clean! The pool is cleaned regularly (in the summer anyway), there's a hot tub, ping pong table, pool table, gym room, computer "lab" (I say "lab" because there are only two computers but you can see they are advanced and not just your normal desktop), coffee machine, and even a shuttle to the Lloyd Noble Center in case you don't have a car and need an easy, reliable way to get to campus. Truthfully, I had not visited The Flats before signing my lease here and instead I based my decision off of the reviews I had seen online about this place, but especially about other places and what other people had told me from their experiences. My biggest concern was pests, with the only present one at The Flats being wasps, though they stay outside. I have not seen any other pest of any form. For the price I pay here, I am super grateful to have found this place to stay. I like the isolated community feeling given that Stinson St is a dead-end with the Flats at the end of the road. I highly recommend considering living here!

I loved living at The Flats , on site staff is great! Move in and move out went very smoothly. In my opinion The Flats is one of the better student communities in Norman. Great maintenance staff as well, work orders were always taken care of with in 48 hours. Staff when walking around would always wave and ask how I am doing. I love having a large pool I can bring friends to as well as the volleyball court it made my summer more enjoyable. The Flats is tucked away with only one entry so I felt pretty safe! I made really great friends with neighbors and even got some of my friends to move in across from me! Having big bedrooms was honestly the biggest selling point, I have a lot of stuff and having a large room with overhead storage helped with being able to organize everything! I also love how close it is to campus, I would take daily runs in the evening and get a good 3 miles in!! The dog park is also a plus, I didn't have a dog at the time but my roommate did and she loved how spacious it was!! IF you visit or decide to tour definitely ask for Kendall, she gives great tours and was extremely patient when I asked a million and one questions! Last thing, I loved all the resident events, I thought they were so fun and creative!! I always looked forward to them monthly!

The flats apartments were amazing and the office staff were amazing. We scheduled a self-guided tour and the app was pretty informative and helpful and the office staff met us halfway and gave us a more in depth experience. Also they gave us merch so that was a little perk when leaving. Overall great apartments and very helpful staff.

I think this place is ideal for college students, grad students, and anyone looking to get the first taste of apartment living. I do have some gripes that leave me with less than 5 stars— lack of accurate communication of when maintenance or contractors will be in (contract states that they will give a 24-hour window, they give 3-day or more windows (especially in the summer)), the pool could use some repairs and upgrades, regularly overflowing in the package room (with very little security for those packages, I’ve personally had 2 stolen), lack of clear communication as to the requirements of allergy notice, and a few other nitpicks that reduce it from 5-stars. Overall, a great and convenient place to live that suits a wide variety of needs. Not perfect, but highly recommended for the price and amenities.

Toured with Emily and it was amazing! She was very kind and attentive to my questions. Very knowledgeable about the property too. The apartments are much more spacious than the other student housing apartments around. I like the fact that you only have 4 apartments per floor, makes it feel more like a community!
