Montara Park, norman-ok

UPDATE** Previously I posted a review of this crooked business under another account with the same name but I felt the obligation to spread awareness to what they have been doing. I have been constantly bombarded with emails asking me to pay a bill for room cleaning for a room which was not mine (I have photo evidence that they refuse to acknowledge). They have treated me and my family like absolute garbage since moving out, and threatened us with a collection agency multiple times (AGAIN FOR A BILL THAT SHOULD NOT BE OUR RESPONSIBILITY). During the time I did live there, it was evident that security and maintenance were real issues as our apartment had MAJOR black mold in the AIR CONDITIONER (it was a newly renovated unit so that should not have been a problem). Multiple doors in the apartment looked as though they had been busted/kicked in when we moved in (with some of them not even locking or closing properly). None of the place was clean either, we had to clean it ourselves with there even being broken glass from one of the ceiling fan lights in one of my roommates rooms. I don’t typically write negative reviews, but this company has made me feel the need to inform the public of their actions due to the heinous treatment of current and previous residents. Oh also, i’m not the only one they are doing this to by the way, there are multiple others who have reached out to me about charges which they had proof to dispute and were ignored by Montara Park, who then threaten to send a collection agency. I do not understand how you “want us to communicate with you” but then ignore anyone who has actual proof that you’re doing shady, evil business. As a college student, thinking you can milk us for money is awful on yalls part because we struggle enough. As a human being, you should be ashamed of yourselves for the actions of your company. (p.s. here’s that photo evidence I was talking about, with the first two pics being before I moved out. I left my room absolutely spotless and even cleaned the entire kitchen. they messed up so badly that they ended up throwing one of my roommates stuff away whenever he was renewing for another year.)

It took them six months to fix a broken fan, and that was after talking to them a dozen times. When I asked one of the employees how long it would take to fix the fan, he literally said, “I would be lying to you if I gave you a date.” The maintenance guy even tried to gaslight me by saying the fan was supposed to be that way. lol. It made a weird clicking sound. The apartment was full of cockroaches. I left as soon as I could.

Just got out of a year long lease with this company. Worst apartment i’ve been in. Maintenance never took place ever after requesting it, and they screwed up me and my roommates rooms and charged money to those who didn’t even have anything left behind. Terrible company, if you can, don’t choose them. By the way, here’s how you can leave the kitchen and your room, and they will still charge you 250 dollars worth of money from your roommates garbage that wasn’t even in your room. Again, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX, YOU WILL BE UNHAPPY AND WASTE YOUR MONEY

Living at Montara Park has been a miserable experience for me and my roommates. Within two months of moving in, our washing machine backed up with stagnant water and would not drain for weeks, maintenance showed up a month after they were requested. Not much longer after that, we found out that our air filter had not been changed in about a year because it caused our HVAC unit to overheat and break down. We were without heat or air for another month, through both freezing temperatures and extremely hot temperatures, maintenance gave us a “temporary fix” and told us there was only so much they could do, so inevitably our heat and air shut down again and we were without it again for weeks. Between the poor management, the fire alarms randomly going off at any given hour, and the appliances that my roommates and I pay for and don’t get to use (because they’re almost always broken), I’m not sure if I could say for sure what the worst part of being here has been. Save yourself the money and the anguish by living elsewhere, it’s not worth it here.

This complex is completely revamped. The staff on site is very respectful and always makes sure things are taken care of from the privacy of the residents to the way the property is taken care of. I believe that if you are a student or someone looking for roommates because you don't like living alone your accomodations can be met and taken care of. I hope you get the change to stop by and meet the friendly staff of site. They all look forward to meeting you.
