Lark at Kohl, madison-wi

Extremely bad experience. There are lots of maintenance problems, and it can be very noisy at times. The manager, Brenden, is irresponsible, rude, and arrogant. When I moved in, the apartment was dirty and hadn’t been properly cleaned. Some of the furniture was broken, and the apartment management completely ignored my maintenance requests. On top of that, the rent increases are unreasonable. I strongly do not recommend living here.

Wonderful space and managers. I arrived on Labor day, so apartment's office was closed. I couldn't check-in but Stephanie came from her house and help me to move-in. Really thanks. Also, apartment is really clean and cool. If you enjoy your Madison life, choose here.

I’ve never written a one-star review before, but I actually had the worst experience at Lark at Kohl, and I hope this helps others think twice before applying here. A few years ago, I applied for a 2B2B room with my best friend as my roommate. Everything looked fine on the portal, and it even showed that my best friend was in the same “roommate group/cohort” as me. We both made our payments, thinking everything was handled. However, in the confirmation email, I was assigned to a random roommate in a 2B2B, while she was placed with 2 other roommates in a 2B2B she hadn’t even signed up for. We rushed to the office to speak with management, but they rudely blamed us for “not paying the fee at the same time.” This instruction was never written anywhere on the website nor communicated to us beforehand. They said they could put us on the waitlist in case someone canceled their 2B2B, but that never happened. Because of this, I had to live with a random roommate and adjust my lifestyle to hers. It caused my friend and me a lot of stress, constantly going to the office to check the status and being forced to live with strangers we’d never met for a whole year, all while being far from our families. I know this might not happen to everyone, but if it does, it will completely ruin your experience like it did mine. Trust the other one-star reviews, save yourself the stress, and look anywhere else before applying here.

My daughter been so lucky staying at this apartment so far . She is taking computer science and the internet is super fast . She never move out since the 1st time she came . The only issue is sometimes the heater is not working well , but once she reported , somebody came and fixed it .

Thanks for fixing the ceiling issue, but regarding the overall experience, the apartment is not recommended. The worst experience I’ve ever had in any apartment. The manager, Branden, is extremely rude and condescending. He is not willing to provide any real service to residents. When I submitted a maintenance request for the blinds, instead of fixing it, they simply deleted the request. They installed blinds without a pull cord, which made it impossible for me to raise them. I requested blinds with a pull cord, but they told me that such products were no longer allowed due to U.S. law. However, I could clearly see that my neighbors and friends in lark or other apartments all had blinds with pull cords. This issue last for months. Then one day, when my blinds broke again, they replaced them with blinds with a pull cord — contradicting what they had told me before. The front desk staff are friendly, but the manager, Branden, is absolutely terrible. The service experience is awful. The apartment was not properly cleaned when I moved in, and the rent increases are unreasonable. I strongly recommend NOT choosing this apartment.
