Wildcat Crossing, chico-ca

My grandson just moved to Chico for school, and the entire move-in process was smooth and easy. Since we’re not from Chico, we were a little concerned about applying without seeing the apartments in person first. However, upon arrival, we were very pleased to find that the apartment and the property looked exactly like they did on the website. While not brand new, the apartment itself is nicely renovated and everything was clean and painted. One of the biggest draws for us was the fact that the property is fully gated, and we're happy to say that it’s exactly as advertised. While there were just a few minor things that needed attention, the staff took care of them quickly and kindly. Kyle and Emily in the office have been absolutely fantastic. Everyone is friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful. The maintenance man, Jordan, I believe is his name, has also been great. He’s addressed a couple of small issues quickly and with a friendly attitude. Leaving our grandson so far from home has been stressful, but after just a week of living here, we feel much more at ease. The community feels safe, the location is convenient for school, and overall, we’re very happy with the apartments!

Outstanding customer service and such friendly staff. The property manager, Kyle, is incredibly knowledgeable of the property. Emily is friendly and welcoming and helpful with any and every question you could think of and you don't have to wait days for a response.

Anyone who is thinking about renting here, read my review first. DON'T DO IT. This place is the worst out of the 4 apartments I have lived here in Chico. The social and timber creek were both better than this place. We moved into a 4 bed 2 bath townhouse. To start out we were lied to. They showed us an awesome one bedroom model apartment that had no issues. We knew it was not going to be perfect, but we never expected it would be this bad. I cried the day we moved in when I realized what I had done. I went straight to the office with all of my concerns and the kids that run the place told us that "that's just apartment living, there's nothing we can do about it." The baseboards are all cracked & messed up, the sealant around the bathroom tub and the kitchen sink are basically falling off. The shower head was pulled halfway out of the wall, it looked like someone had taken a baseball bat to our door, and the closet doors were rickety and barely movable. The screws were put in incorrectly on almost every drawer/cupboard in the kitchen, it looked like mold was growing in the bathroom and the living room, the washing machine and dryers are so old I'm surprised they work, and the hose was broken on the outside of the house. Our stovetop was broken within the first week of being here. The painters also painted directly over spiders and their webs, the carpet feels like an old sponge in the bedroom, and the bugs are the worst. As someone who has arachnophobia and is also afraid of most bugs, I found 3 spiders and multiple other bugs in the first 2 days of living here. We also had an ant invasion. Three months later I am finding baby spiders and big spiders all over the bathroom and the bedroom. Don't try to hang anything on the walls in certain areas because they will just fall out, not to mention the fact that our ceiling is crooked. The AC barely worked which forced us to keep our door open all night long, so we have no privacy. It was either that or sweat all night long. Our screen door on the outside broke about a month in. There were multiple stains on the walls in random places. We were also lied to about the price of the apartment. Since there are two of us we had to pay double occupancy. They said it would be $715/month and that utilities would only be around $10 (water, trash, sewage). This was coming from the girl showing us the complex, who said she had lived in the townhouse before (total lie on price). We paid around $860/month. They added a random utility charge ($10) along with a charge for sewer, trash, and water, along with renters insurance ($13). When I decided I couldn't take it anymore I called to get out of the lease. They said we couldn't unless we did a lease takeover or paid the full remainder of the year long stay we are supposed to have. Overall, I beg of you to never even consider living here unless you're okay overpaying for a place that makes empty promises, never does pest control, and lies about everything. The only thing that is good about this place is the maintenance workers, who fixed what they could. Our AC broke twice within two months, leaving us to portable air conditioners in 100 degree weather. Also for PGE, the apartment didn't want to be involved, which basically led to a huge disagreement on how much everyone should pay. When moving out, we knew we were not going to get a full deposit back ($600), but it was ridiculous how much they took (only $40 back). Our roommates (though they were on the lease and paying for their rooms until 7/31) technically moved out earlier leaving us with a $200 PGE bill (because again the apartments couldn't be bothered), and ended up doing ALL of the cleaning. They also charged us insane prices for cleaning even though we cleaned really well. l (we have always gotten almost all of our deposit back at every place we've lived by doing this), and the "hours of cleaning" made no sense, especially since when we moved in it was extremely dirty, like they didn't clean at all and left it up to the past residents. I literally would NEVER live here again.

I have been here almost 5 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Everyone in the office are so wonderful and kind and helpful and every time I go in the minute I open the door I'm greeted with a big smile. Even the maintenance crew I know a real busy all the time but when they come over they're so kind and they come in and do their job with a smile and are very kind also. Thank you wildcat crossing and I'm so looking forward to being here for several more years

Emily and Kyle were very helpful when I was looking for an apartment to move into this past August. As a student, I needed a quiet and safe place to live in Chico- Wildcat Crossing is perfect for that! I feel very safe with the Gate and extra lighting around the property. Maintenance is very communicative and super on top of any work orders I submit. I absolutely love living here and would recommend this complex to everyone! (Side note: A few of the older reviews had me nervous, but after living here for a while I know those reviews are either very outdated or flat out wrong! Would give 6 stars if I could!)
