I was super happy with this apartment complex until they decided to be manipulative . They knew about my ESA cat , even communicated about him during maintenance’s visits , but chose to place someone allergic to cats in the apartment and pretend they didn’t know and the try and bully me into giving up my child of 11 years . Absolutely shameful , and they refuse to apologize or admit what they’ve done wrong . I cannot in good faith recommend this complex to anyone due to that .

I’ve lived with ISM multiple times while I lived in Chico. When I first moved in, my parents and I had a great relationship with the manager, Catherine, when we toured all over Chico because she showed me and my roommates everything we might like. We left a deposit and after moving in with my roommates, each time we had a problem, the front desk people were rude. We had to reach out to the manager and she worked out the issue. When our lease ended, Catherine helped the three of us staying with ISM find the next apartment. I moved out from those roommates but had a bad experience and returned the next year to ISM. I reached out to Catherine and she found the perfect apartment so that I didn’t not have to have roommates. When I moved out this year, there was chaos in the office and the new manager and her clerk were really rude and argued with me. I was in the office watching them argue with other tenants. My neighbors and I realized none of us received our deposits back because ISM made up problems in the apartment that wasn’t out fault, then they didn’t communicate, or ever call back even though my neighbors and I contacted them many times. This past year has helped me learn a lot about protecting myself when I rent an apartment.

Management helped my roommates abandon the lease and leave me as the sole person responsible for paying. Horrible behavior. I've only been living here for two months and it was lease takeover. I cant believe they did this to me. Its shouldn't be legal. Lots of discriminatory behavior towards Black tenants as well. Black college students should avoid living here, they will be bullied and discriminated against by ISM Management and their roommates.

Absolutely the worst management I have ever had to deal with. I have to do 95% of the grounds maintenance around my tri-plex otherwise the grass would be 2 ft. tall and a fire hazard. AC went out almost 2 months ago and they sent someone over to "fix" it. He said he did not have the parts to fix it. My thermostat only goes to 99, and it was tapping out on me. So, no cooling during the summer, winter will be soon, so no heat for the winter. And the kicker is, my rent here has been raised the maximum allowed under CA law for the last two years in a row, more than our gross income has gone up.

The apartment itself was clean and a great fit for a college student. Move-in was smooth, and the online payment system worked well. Management was responsive during the lease — at first. However, since my son moved out over two months ago, we’ve had zero communication from the property. We have not received any portion of the security deposit, nor have we been provided with an invoice or itemized statement explaining how it was used — which is required. At this point, we will be contacting the corporate office directly.
