District Lofts, tuscaloosa-al

BEWARE! There are a lot of hidden fees in the rent. Be sure to talk to a representative and question the charges. Also, they use Foxen for renters insurance. I, like many others, already have this coverage in my homeowners policy. Even though I spoke to Foxen numerous times, they still continued to charge me. As far as the apartment complex, the elevator NEVER works! This is a nightmare when moving in or grocery shopping. The code on the door is also the same for every resident. When I called to ask to change this, they say it can’t be done. This is a HUGE safety concern. My daughter has had several people walk in. This is truly terrifying! The washer was also not correctly connected and flooded the entire place, the barstools do not fit the island, the shower rod in the bathroom was placed too high and water gets all over the floor, the toilets don’t flush properly and the water is lukewarm warm at best. Please do your research before signing a lease here.

I have been a new resident at the District Lofts located on Greensboro Ave. I love the location of this apartment complex and I love that the Greensboro location comes with furniture because that made my out of state move so much easier! All the staff are friendly and the few work orders we had were solved promptly. They put on frequent community events and give out lots of free things which has been such a perk of living here. The 3 bed 3 bath apartment I live in is beautiful and spacious and truly one of the nicest apartments I've seen in the area for the price. Definitely recommend.

Overall a great place to live, really easy to walk to BDS on gamedays, or to the strip for nights out, etc. Overall nice leasing office, I think they do the best they can working with students!!

Maintenance is great and it is a great location, but there are two glaring issues: parking and the elevator. There is already limited parking as there is, and management made majority of the surface lot spaces reserved for an additional fee. There is also some street parking, but there is no enforcement for the parking stickers they give during move in, meaning the only available parking is a street or two over many times during the week and weekend. On the date of writing this (November 2nd) the elevator is currently not working and has not been working since September 17th with minimal communication on a timeline for repair. If I could give 3.5 stars, that is a much more fair rating, but it’s either 3 or 4. With all of this being said, the maintenance is top notch and the office staff is very friendly and great at putting together community events! It is a great place to live, minus the two aforementioned issues.

I’m just reviewing about the leasing process it was seamless and they really do answer the phone and help you and your student through it. Tatum was very helpful and answered any questions. So far that’s been my only experience. My son and roommates went on a tour and loved the apartments and location. Checks the budget too! My son will move in August and we are looking forward to seeing the place ourselves.
