Palmerton Apartment Complex, state-college-pa

College rental option while attending school 2025 experience. Decent no frills type building for reasonable monthly rent. Location is fairly good being within a block of campus. Being slightly more centered than the lower corner edge would be desirable though. The interior hallway is very institutional looking being all cinderblock without windows. Drums due to being closed off the hallway traps smells a bit. Be it cooking or smoking…from other units. It makes the hallway potentially smelly on random days. Apartment units are a decent size and layout. 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom for four. Not sure paying for it to be furnished is worth it. Beds offered are twin, not xl plus one chest of drawers (per renter) stools in kitchen, smallish couch, chair and three tables (side, coffee and tv table). That’s it. Convenient but not necessarily comfortable. Less the half the amount charged at some of the brand new places in the area so you get what you pay for.

I am really satisfied with Palmerton for several reasons, including perfect heating (during very cold winters, it really keeps the apartment warm and comfortable), cleanliness, and the fact that the apartment management is very responsible. They conduct inspections multiple times per month and check everything, informing residents in advance about these procedures.

This place is falling into pieces. I am paying $1500 for a place where oven does NOT work, and washer does NOT work. Curtains are falling when you open them. Water from shower barely gets drained and overflows when in use. Beds are extremely uncomfortable had to buy a whole bew bed and bed frames. Dumpster truck is super liud and makes huge noise right outside my apartment. Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else.

If you are considering the Palmerton Apartment Complex that is managed by the Apartment Store, I highly recommend it. I had the opportunity to get assistance from Carly, the person managing the Palmerton Apartment Complex for the Apartment Store and have to say that it was a wonderful experience. She was very knowledgeable, super friendly, genuinely wanted to assist, and ultimately solved my problem with one call. She absolutely exceeded my expectations, thank you Carly, you have created a Raving Fan!

A bit cramped at times, this is your typical college apartment complex. I do not like how the set-back entrance is slightly lower than street level because it feels like you are entering a sort of dungeon. The rooms within have a nice balance between living space and utility space, but again, they are cramped.
