This place is an insanely good deal. I love my unit, my neighbors are quiet, and management is always helpful and accommodating. It's just around the block from Safeway and Trader Joe's, and a little over five minutes walk from campus, the light rail station, and restaurants on the ave (i.e. Chipotle, my beloved). It fits all of my needs perfectly, and I couldn't ask for much more. Contrary to older reviews, the shared kitchen has always been clean, and the laundry machines are usually available. The units are a bit beat up, but I'm more than happy to overlook a few cosmetic flaws given the price and other features. If you tour and find that you like the unit, jump on it. You will not find a better deal anywhere else. The one caveat: If bright lights bother you, I wouldn't recommend getting a unit across from the Audi dealership due to the unshielded floodlight on their roof. It's against city and state ordinances, but I don't think management has filed a complaint yet.

As a UW student, Sunrise Cascade is a solid option for the price. The rent is relatively affordable for the U District, especially considering how close it is to campus and public transportation, which makes getting around really convenient. The units are on the smaller side since they’re mini-studios with shared kitchens, but they have the basics you need for student living. In terms of cleanliness, it’s about as clean as it can be for this kind of setup, nothing fancy, but generally acceptable if you keep up with your own space and shared areas. Overall, it’s not luxury housing, but for the cost and location, it works well for students on a budget.

Amazing student housing, extremely affordable and great proximity to campus. Super safe, as convenient location compared to other options in similar price range

I’ve lived here for about a year and have really enjoyed my experience with the management team. They’re friendly, responsive, and easy to communicate with. Some of the shared kitchen spaces on different floors were remodeled, which has been a great improvement. Overall, this apartment is a solid, budget-friendly option.

One of the better deals for students I’ve seen. Cheaper than dorms with more space. You get your own unit for what I was paying to be in a triple. Also closer to u district and campus than my west campus dorm was.
