My husband and I lived here for a year. I waited before posting this to make sure I wasn’t just reacting in the moment, but here’s the honest version: There is a consistent cockroach issue. After talking to neighbors, seeing one or two a week seems to be considered “normal” here, which says a lot. Personally, I found around 10 over the course of the year. I do have a cat, so that may have helped keep things under control. I wouldn’t call it a full infestation, but it’s definitely not something you should have to just accept. Maintenance is actually one of the stronger points… when they show up. They do respond to emergencies, even outside business hours. Mr. Armando, in particular, is great at explaining what’s going on and what the next steps are. Even when things aren’t fixed right away, at least you’re not completely in the dark. That said, I did have a serious incident where a maintenance worker disconnected my washer and flooded my entire floor. I reported it to the office, and no one came to help. It wasn’t until my husband called, very upset, that they finally decided to send someone to assist with the flooding and the furniture. It really shouldn’t take an angry call to get help in that kind of situation. This goes back to the lack of proactiveness — problems should be addressed, not escalated. Management, overall, is where things fall apart. Email communication is basically nonexistent. If you need an answer, expect to call or physically go to the office. Otherwise, you’ll likely be ignored. I understand they’re busy, but not responding at all is frustrating and, honestly, unprofessional. A simple follow-up would go a long way, but that doesn’t seem to be a priority here. They also shut off the water fairly often due to ongoing issues. It’s usually temporary, but frequent enough to be noticeable and inconvenient. The complex itself is quiet for the most part. You’ll occasionally get a noisy neighbor, but we only had a real issue once all year. There are lots of kids around, and it feels like a big, lived-in community. The gym is decent, but cleanliness is questionable. I work out regularly and can count on one hand how many times I saw it being cleaned… actually, probably just once. Also worth mentioning: in the mornings, they regularly use leaf blowers, so if you enjoy sleeping in, that might not be realistic here. As for our deposit, we were told part of it would be refunded. The letter said it was sent, but it never made it to our new address. We followed up by email multiple times and, three months later, still no response. At that point, it’s hard not to feel like you’ve just been brushed off. Overall, it’s a relatively safe place with the kind of issues you’ll often find in apartments around San Antonio. If you care more about safety and decent maintenance than communication, and don’t mind recurring inconveniences, it might work for you :) EDIT 05/21/2026 As for our deposit, we were told part of it would be refunded, but it never arrived. After months of unanswered emails, the property manager finally called last week saying they would “look into it” and asked us to reconfirm our address. Since then, we still haven’t received any updates or resolution, which honestly just added to the frustration and confusion around the situation.

Since April 1st, I have been living at my current apartment with my three children, and during this time the living conditions have gotten worse instead of improving. Within the first month of moving in, I noticed water leaking into my bedroom during rain, leaving a puddle on the floor. When I reported it, I was told nothing could be done until the rain stopped, and the water was simply vacuumed up with no real repair or follow-up. Not long after that, I also reported a serious pest problem, including spiders, large roaches, and what appeared to be termites coming into the unit. Pest control came out once, but the technician told me he couldn’t treat anything due to a prior chemical use in the apartment that could be unsafe. He left without doing any treatment and said he would return within two weeks, but he never came back. Since then, every time it rains, I’ve had more small leaks and water buildup, which I tried to manage at first because it didn’t seem too bad. However, during a severe storm last night, my entire apartment flooded. Everything I own that was on the floor was damaged or destroyed. I lost over $2,000 worth of my bed set, over $1,000 worth of my couch, and all of my clothes were ruined. Even my only pair of work shoes was damaged, leaving me with nothing usable. I’m a single parent with three kids, and this situation has been extremely overwhelming and stressful because this is our only home and we have nowhere else to go. I did request to be transferred to another unit due to these ongoing issues, but my request was not accepted. Shortly after, I saw that they were advertising available apartments, which was very upsetting given everything I’ve been going through. At this time, the office is closed for the holiday weekend and will not reopen until Monday, and I’m currently left in a very difficult situation with no immediate help or solution while trying to care for my children and figure out how to recover from all of this damage. It’s been a nightmare living here.

⭐ 1 Star — Extremely Disappointed with The Joseph at Huebner Apartments My experience living here has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. This property has serious health and safety concerns that should not be ignored. There are large rodents crawling inside the walls, and nothing is being done to address it. The stairwells are unsafe — the railing is loose and the spacing is wide enough for a toddler to fall through, which is completely unacceptable. This is a major hazard, especially for families with children. On top of that, management is unprofessional and lacks compassion. During my first month of living here, I was dealing with financial hardship. Instead of showing any understanding, the office lady, Ishmael, personally had my car towed. What makes it worse is that other cars — including vehicles on jacks — were just given warnings to move and never towed. It feels like I was singled out and unfairly targeted, which is completely unacceptable. The towing policies are inconsistently enforced, and this kind of treatment shows a serious lack of professionalism and integrity from the staff. I strongly advise anyone considering moving here to look elsewhere. This is not a safe or supportive place to live. I will be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau and regional manager.

We’ve been here for two years and CANNOT wait to leave ASAP. Sugar ants. CONSTANTLY. All YEAR AROUND UNLESS IT RAINS OR STAYS COLD! No matter how much we clean, fill holes in the wood and bring in pest control to spray the unit, they return. And it’s not just our unit, it’s the building, if not the whole complex. The day we moved in, sugar ants in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Multiple cars have had windows broken (us included) and no security cameras in the parking lot or assistance from the front office was available when we tried to report the incident. Thankfully a neighbor saw what happened and informed me. And the water. I don’t know what is going on, but the water is frequently turned off randomly for hours due to maintenance. You may get an email about it or you may not, from my experience. Also, if you work from home or overnight, this is not an ideal location as the landscapers are walking around with leaf blowers MULTIPLE DAYS A WEEK for HOURS in the morning, from 9AM into the afternoon sometimes. Earlier this week, I could hear a leaf blower just outside our unit for almost an hour and a half straight. The complex is next to a middle school too, so getting home or leaving around 4PM usually adds an extra ten minutes to your commute. Pros: Nice fireplace and decent hardwood floors.

The best apartments to live at. We have been here going on 2 years. The leasing team Ishel and Jennifer are the best at leasing agents and the property manager is always nice! Armando, Miguel and Alex are on top of maintaining a great environment. Thank you!
