The District At Manhattan Apartments, manhattan-ks

This is my second apartment I’ve been at and by far one of the best. The staff is very sweet and accommodating, they are very easy to work with and keep the buildings neat.

I currently live at the district and it has been a nightmare! Fist my apartment has been without AC for around a month! We put in so requests to get it fixed only to be told that nothing was wrong. Then when complaining again was told someone came into our apartment to look at it, which was a lie because we were home when they "came in and fixed it". Finally they got someone out who told us the whole unit needed to be replaced. So they brought in a portable air conditioner. But put it in my roommates room! Meaning only she gets to have air. This is a two bedroom! Meaning two portable air conditioners should have been installed. Or at least put it in the living room! But the thing that finally broke me and lead me to leave a review was what happened this week. The district was sold and the new management company wanted every person to get utility's in our own name (which goes against out lease) so with no warning cut power to ALL our apartments. It was 95 degrees that day! They didn't send an email out till passed 3 pm that the power was out and had been since 8 am. Leaving peoples food to start to go bad and pets in HOT apartments. Now I understand that the power could've been a miss communication with the old owners and the new ones. But it has been how the new company has handed the mix up. Sending unapologetic emails and honestly not giving the feeling they care about the people living here. I have lived here for 2 years. In that time the property has never been clean trash all over the place and dog poop. There's never enough washers and dryers and they are dirty. They have never been fast with fixing anything including a leak in my ceiling from the upstairs dishwasher. Also when someone was shot on property nothing was said. Honestly I hope when the new company takes over the place turns around. Because it is in a great location. So I truly wish the new management team all the luck. But as of this moment I would not recommend to someone.

I’m new the the District and so far I love! Very affordable place to live with nice apartments and great sized balconies. The staff is very friendly and always willing to answer any questions you have. They do an amazing job keeping the laundry, pool, and gym clean and neat! The amazing events and frequent giveaways keep me excited to stay involved in the community!! They do take some time getting to maintenance issues if they aren’t urgent which isn't the best but it’s a big complex so understanding is important.

This place has gone downhill very quickly within the past year. Me and my roommates used to love living here but now we can't wait to get out. The laundry room is always very dirty and smells bad. There is dog poop everywhere due to careless owners. We've had no light in our kitchen for over 3 weeks now even with several maintenance orders put in. Our unit flooded last year and they never fixed anything, so there is mold growing. Recently, all residents power was cut with no warning due to lack of communication between old property owners and new ones. This was all very unprofessional from both parties.

I lived at Chase for a year and a half, and I loved my apartment. I live on the 3rd floor and it was super quiet. The manager made sure that I got brand new carpet and brand new paint, because the people did not take care of the apartment. It was terrible, but I signed the lease because the manager promised to take care of the damages. And they did! My apartment looked brand new before I moved in, and then they continued to make improvements after I moved in, like new vinyl in the kitchen and replaced a door that had some bad scratches. The staff was always great to me during my stay here, and after I left, I got my entire security deposit back. There were a few staff changes, but that's to be expected sometimes. The new staff took care of me and my roommates, and were really friendly. The laundry room had some issues here and there, but they were always taken care of and if the machine ate my money, then they would give it back. Parking was a big issue for me, but after a while I got used to it. But I still hated it, not going to lie. I would recommend this property to everyone, because you will get a nice apartment, and the staff was good to us.
