DO NOT BE A RESIDENT HERE!!! Thank goodness this is not where my daughter will be living. She was visiting for Texas Tech orientation (which is already stressful), the resident has never received information about guest parking permits, and while my daughter was visiting, the resident told her where all guests park. Well my daughter's vehicle was towed. NO ONE from the apartments or the towing company are making sense. Apartments are saying NO permit tag needed if youre a guest, but towing place says you do need a permit. Oh and conveniently they won't take payment by phone, even though I am in the DFW area. Expecting someone to drive from DFW to lubbock to pay $321.00 for this nonsense is absurd

This place is way overpriced for the poor quality of the apartments. I got lucky and happened to get new carpet, but most of my friends’ units had carpets in the WORST condition imaginable. The overall materials used throughout the apartments are the lowest-grade materials possible. The water pressure in my shower was crazy low, and the water smelled and tasted so much like chlorine and chemicals. The location was also a major problem for me… being right off Avenue Q means constant exposure to Lubbock’s homeless population. The doors and windows don’t seal properly, so everyday i had a pile of dirt in my living room that had blown in from underneath the front door. The walls are so thin that you can hear every neighbor’s conversation and music from cars streets away. On top of that, packages are often lost or sent back, and management constantly looks for ways to up-charge. For example, after moving out, my friend was billed $175 for keys I had already returned for her over a month earlier. I clearly DO NOT recommend The Collective for student living.

The house was a good layout and has good furniture if you get the add on, I wish it came with a nightstand, but it came with a dresser, bed, and desk. It wasn’t very clean and the carpets were kind of stained but it smelled okay and wasn’t terrible. I liked the back patio if you get the courtyard add on, very good size and has a fire pit

This is an awesome place to live. We love the pool and grill area and the well equipped gym. It is very close to Texas Tech, and a short drive down the highway to some great shopping and food experiences! All of the staff from the maintenance, to the front desk, everyone is so nice and very helpful! It’s pet friendly and very close to a nice dog park!

Do not move here, unless you want to be scammed. The walls had dirt and were disgusting so they had to paint over them. The toilets has piss on them when we moved in so clearly they do not clean before you move in. The carpet had cat piss and was scratched up (even cat piss stains on the wall) and was so disgusting as soon as we moved in. They sent someone to clean it but it was still dirty. I had a dog and registered her for $300 (non refundable) and $25 a month she caused damage but I assumed they’d use the deposit for the damage. They later told me those were just fees and not applied to any damage the dog caused and are now charging me to replace all the carpet. So the $700 was just extra money for them I guess.. My dog is potty trained the stains came from the prior animal which I had asked them to clean yet it was still there. The phones don’t work so management will probably never answer your calls. There was one manager who was so sweet and helpful her name is Elizabeth. If you want anything done there and actually want to talk to someone who cares I suggest speaking to her. The rest of the “management” is a joke they’re rude and feel way too entitled for that $18 an hour they make. They are so unorganized, they contacted me twice about an unregistered pet when I had clearly already registered a pet, then they had left old furniture in our apartment which we kept asking them to take out because it wasn’t ours so we put it outside and then they sent us a message and threatened to charge us for furniture outside WHEN IT WAS THEIR FURNITURE THAT THEY WOULD NOT GET. They are money hungry and so rude for a dirty beat down place.. (the maintenance crew were also very helpful and nice). If you want to live somewhere where they charge you left and right for no reason, you have homeless people digging through the trash, broken glass bottles all around or management who don’t know what they’re doing I highly recommend this place.
