Lakeland Apartments, ithaca-ny

I lived there for two years. It is very convenient if you go to north campus constantly. but the apartments are super old, there's drainage issue, water pooling in the bathroom floor, old facilities, you name it. But it feels like home (I had great roommates)

For an Ithaca apartment near Cornell, it's good. I lived here in 2019/2020 THE GOOD: - Cheap, most utilities included, "furnished", and parking is inexpensive/free - Very pretty area and bus route 30 is right outside (runs every 15-30 minutes to and from Cornell) - Management is fair (I got my security back in full no issues) - Still walkable to campus, takes about 15 minutes to reach the edge of campus, 25 to make it to the edge of collegetown THE BAD: - Mold problem, even on the first floor, so look out for that - It's small, so you have to get creative if you have a lot of stuff - Bathroom is weirdly configured, toilet is super close to the tub - Some walls are thin so you can hear a lot of doors slamming, people running up/down stairs, parties/gatherings, etc.

Apartment 1D is truly a dump. It makes my skin crawl: stained crusty smelly carpets, water-damaged bathroom floors, faulty radiators that keep turning on in the middle of summer, dishwasher with grime cemented on the bottom. It’s so sad that these living conditions are considered acceptable when you’re paying rent. Edit 6/26: our tenancy just started…?? So I guess there was no changeover cleaning or maintenance. Luckily the dishwasher was just replaced. Only corrosive chemicals, new carpets, new bathroom linoleum, and new box springs could solve the remaining mess.

Stay away! They will screw up your college life. They don’t do move in cleaning at all, you will get a bunch of broken furniture, manager will not respond to maintenance requests because they don’t have people to fix stuff

Lived here for 6 months from Summer 2011 to Dec 2011. Rented a second floor place with a few friends. All carpeted, place is old, but it is what it is for a poor college student.
