THEY ARE NICE WHEN TOURING AND WHEN SIGNING BUT VERY RUDE WHEN AN ACTUAL ISSUE ARISES! READ MORE BELOW PLEASE!! I wish I had seen the review from 6 months ago before signing my lease, because I lived through the exact same situation. An unauthorized male occupant was living full-time in my shared unit with my roommate, despite me reporting it to management repeatedly since January 2026, with photos, videos, and timestamped building access logs that I collected at my own expense. Nothing was done. This man would walk around our shared common areas at all hours, they fought loudly and frequently, and I never felt safe leaving my own room. Management's response was to ask me for more documentation as a full time student with multiple extracurricular and part time job commitments, ignore my follow-ups, and offer me a unit transfer for $500, making me pay to escape a problem they refused to fix. On top of that: roach infestation, a key fob malfunction that locked me out for over a month, constant false fire alarms, and severe allergy issues from an unauthorized dog in the unit. When I finally decided to vacate, they tried to tell me I owe utilities and fees on top of rent, directly contradicting the no-cause termination terms in my own lease. The prior review warned that management's inaction would create another victim. They were right. Please read that review, read mine, and look at the evidence before signing anything here. If you are a student looking for housing in the area, I would genuinely recommend One12 instead. It is cheaper, closer to campus, comparable in quality, and the staff is significantly more pleasant to deal with. Not worth the price or the stress here.

It troubles me to write this post but it’s necessary as I hope no one else will be subjected to what we’re experiencing. Initially this was the perfect place for my daughter. It felt safe. It was new. Great amenities. The environment was conducive to a positive student experience. We selected roommates from the ROOMSYNC app and matched well with students who had similar schedules and lifestyles. It was perfect! Fast forward to this week after 2 years of residency, the leasing office places a significantly older non-student resident in the unit with my daughter & 2 other student roommates. There was no introduction, nor consideration of compatibility. When we contacted the leasing office asking them to place the person in a more suitable unit with her peers, they advised this person met financial eligibility and that compatibility is not always possible. My daughter does not feel safe as this person has started bringing much older men (well into their 40’s and 50’s) into the unit. Thursday night my daughter was up most of the night due to the loud sexual encounter this person was having. My daughter expressed concern that this individual is taking liberties with personal items that belongs to her and is asking for things like trash bags, toiletries and expecting them to vacate the common area when she brings male friends into the space. The leasing office said they were following all fair housing guidelines & that roommate disputes should be remedied by the roommates. The leasing office also said this person is allowed visitors and my daughter is welcome to report suspected violations. This person is 35 years old and lives a very different lifestyle from students who range in age between 19-21. My daughter no longer feels safe as there’s a great imbalance in this situation. This isn’t reasonable or responsible behavior on behalf of the property. Rather than using common sense to avoid problems, they’re telling my daughter to basically wait until something happens and then come to them. We were told if my student didn’t like the arrangements she has 2 options 1) pay her lease out or 2) sublet the unit through lease term that would only be approved once the individual meets eligibility. Additionally, she would have to pay a $500 early termination fee. Essentially, they’re placing the burden on her to resolve an issue she didn’t create. One they have the authority to resolve. This place is marketed toward the student community as premier student housing. If they plan to place students with non-students they need to be transparent about it and advertise as a mixed community. They need to explain that students are subject to living with non-students regardless of compatibility. I can’t imagine any of them agreeing to their college age kids living with non students twice their senior. After the shooting took place on the premises, several assaults, and vandalism of my kid’s unit we decided not to renew the lease. I’m so glad we did. Otherwise, my kid would be subject to this situation through next school term. As evidenced by this situation, theres no real concern for student safety or compatibility, though students are their target audience. The bottom line is money. I would not recommend housing your student here. *Update as of 5/4/2026 the lady has 2 children living there. Or maybe their visiting. Either way it's finals week and my daughter has had to leave the unit to study. So much for balance and wishing her luck*

This establishment is not forth coming with a lot of information, and not for students! My time at legacy started amazing, until things like security breaches and safety concerns became extremely frequent. I have had people get to my apartment door, who had intentions to do harm and damage to myself and roommate's. This was only the beginning. Now after multiple management and staff changes, I am dealing with a woman old enough to be my mother living in the same apartment as me. When I asked about this building being “Student Housing”, I was told that anyone who qualifies for their financial standards is able to live here. A warning for girls attending Spelman, or other students in the AUC, Legacy isn’t just for us students! This issue is very concerning because guest of this woman (whom are male) are also allowed to enter my apartment. So when you are doing your housing preferences make sure you put “I don’t want to live with 30+ students”! Or you may end up like me. The only options given to me are to pay out the months remaining on my lease, or pay to transfer to another unit. Browse more options before SETTLING with this poor excuse for an apartment.

Recently took a tour of the property and I can say I loved my experience. Dani was extremely helpful and answered all my questions in a detailed manner. Not only was she an amazing aid in the tour process, she helped me find a space that best fit my needs. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to take a tour!

On top of the fact that a female resident was assaulted and choked outside this apartment by another resident + her boyfriend and recently a man was shot and KILLED in this apartment, I’m sure there have been many more incidents here prior to my residency. The security is a joke, people often just walk in with multiple guests and pretend they’re residents instead of signing them in. At night, when security guards are supposed to be on duty, they’re often not even at the desk. So people can just walk through and act like they belong. This area is NOT safe, parents and families don’t send your children to live in this area unless they know how to handle themselves!! You can download the “Citizen” app to see just how many incidents are reported in this area on a daily basis. There are constant robberies, altercations, car break-ins, etc. Also be prepared to be woken up at 3am due to a false fire alarm that won’t stop for 30 mins. False fire alarms are so commons we have them at least once every other week. It’s so frequent that at this point, most of the residents I’ve spoken to have admitted, they would probably not notice a real emergency and would not evacuate because they would treat the situations the same way they treat the false fire alarms. This is a SAFETY issue!! Especially for residents with pets and disabilities!! Another note, the mailroom is a MESS. Nobody’s packages are left in proper slots so most people need to spend like 10-20 minutes searching each of the 30+ columns of mail to find their packages. Many times you have to wait DAYS until you get an email or code to enter the mailroom and pick up your packages. This just gives time for theft and we are held at fault for not getting it sooner. Many packages are also left ripped apart and open in the mailroom confirming there are shameless thefts!! There have also been many instances where people get emails/alerts that they have a new package and when you go to the mailroom, there’s nothing and it was just a glitch. My guarantor who doesn’t live in this building and never ordered a package, got an email saying he has mail to pick up… I went to the mailroom to check, and there was literally nothing addressed to me or him. The same thing has happened to many of my roommates. Instead of focusing on making social media content, the staff at the front desk and office need to focus on sorting mail and preventing thefts. It’s so easy to steal another person’s mail and roommates often pick up each other’s mail without even notifying the other person. And if your package was delivered and you can’t find it, you have to file a POLICE REPORT in order for the building to look at security cameras in the lobby and mailroom or report it to your carrier in hopes of a refund or replacement. The problem is that if you have multiple recurring thefts, even your carrier won’t believe you and will refuse to refund your package. Either hold the delivery drivers or the management staff accountable for keeping resident packages safe. This is unacceptable and all too common for most residents especially considering how much we pay for rent, utilities, and parking. At this point I’ll need to start having my packages delivered to my family and going home every weekend to pick them up instead of getting them delivered to this apartment. The only pros they have are their amenities, location, and shuttle service to AUC. Clearly the cons outweighs them by a LOTTT!! Think wisely, don’t fall for the discounted rent or the amenities!
