Where to begin! Queen Alex has been such a delightful experience. First of all, the staff are absolutely fantastic! I really can’t commend them enough. I know it’s no small task to run such a wonderful old building, but they are friendly and go out of their way to make you feel safe and at home. QA truly is a unique experience! I’ve stayed in other typical halls before, and in comparison, I’ve had a much better time here. The building’s architecture is stunning, and it’s brilliant being surrounded by people from music, art, and science backgrounds. There have been some incredible experiences, such as getting to see a movie filmed here, The Christmas party and being part of the Royal Albert Hall Christmas choir! You cannot fault the location, and I think it’s very reasonably priced. It’s been so easy to make friends, and it’s lovely to have dinner with everyone each evening. If you’re unsure, please give it a chance!

Living at Queen Alexandra’s House has been an unforgettable experience. I’ve been here for two years now, and it’s honestly felt like a second home. From the start, the staff have been nothing short of wonderful - always welcoming and ready with a friendly hello when you pass them in the corridor. It’s those small gestures that make QA feel like a real community, not just somewhere to live. The location is unbeatable. Waking up and seeing the Royal Albert Hall from my window every morning never gets old - it’s a constant reminder of how special this place is. And being just a few minutes from campus has made managing my busy schedule at Imperial so much easier. I genuinely can’t imagine a better location for a student in London. What really sets QA apart, though, is the diverse and vibrant community. As a STEM student at Imperial, I’ve loved living alongside students from the Royal College of Music and the Royal College of Art. It’s such a unique mix, and it’s been so refreshing to connect with people doing completely different things. Some of my favourite moments have just been sharing meals or conversations with housemates from totally different walks of life. One particularly special memory was getting the chance to sing as part of the choir for the Christmas lights switch-on at the Royal Albert Hall. Taking part in such a magical event was a real “pinch me” moment and just one of many incredible experiences I’ve had while living here. The university life can be intense, but coming back to QA at the end of the day always makes things feel a bit easier. The atmosphere is so friendly, and there’s a real support network here - from the staff to fellow residents. I’ve made some amazing friends, and I know those friendships will last long after we all move out. QA really is more than just a place to stay; it’s a once in a lifetime experience, and I’m so glad I got to be part of it.

I cannot praise QAH enough for the wonderful environment it provided me with during my studies at the RCA. The accommodation, showers, common areas, and dinning room are spotless and beautifully maintained. The quality of the food is excellent. The staff could not be more helpful and the Manager is a huge support to students and cannot do enough for residents. I am so grateful for the secure, safe, warm environment it provided where every need was covered and enabled me to think about nothing but studies.

Queen Alexandra’s House has been my home for four years during my undergraduate studies at the Royal College of Music, and I truly couldn’t imagine a more special place to live in London. QAH is more than just student accommodation—it’s a deeply supportive, inspiring, and welcoming environment for young women. The building is full of history and charm, but more than that, it has heart. There’s a rare sense of community here: warm, respectful, and quietly empowering. I’ve always felt safe, grounded, and encouraged to grow—both personally and artistically. Even when I faced financial challenges, I did everything I could to stay, because I knew how much this place mattered to me. It’s peaceful, beautifully located, and filled with like-minded, passionate residents. Whether you’re a musician, artist, or academic, QAH is a space where you can truly focus, thrive, and feel at home. As I now begin my Master’s, I’ve reapplied because I simply can’t imagine living anywhere else. I’m also looking forward to being more involved in the life of the house and contributing to its vibrant community. QAH has been an essential part of my London journey, and I’ll always be grateful for the support, beauty, and spirit that make it so unique. Alix

As a neighbour of Queen Alexander house. I couldn’t wish for a more wonderful thoughtful and caring group as the management and staff of the house. They have brought a community into this small pocket of London. Bringing together neighbours and students in every day life and celebrating together the larger festivals. Thank you
