I would recommend to anyone that is booking to request a room as far away from the carpark/car wash as possible as it is very very noisy. The car wash plays loud music very often which can be heard from the bedrooms near it even with the windows shut, and also the general noise of the car wash can be heard from the bedrooms. If your course requires you to do nightshifts I would really strongly recommend you book on the further side of the building as it is almost impossible to sleep during the day. Also any floor above the second floor is very very hot during autumn and spring, which adds to the difficulty sleeping. The staff are always friendly enough and the accommodation itself is well kept, modern and always tidy, it is just a shame about the noise pollution because it has really impacted my experience this year

Comfy and big bed, which was nice, as some other student accomodation had less comfortable sleeping. Bathroom with sink, toilet and powerful shower. Lots of space and big windows to let in light. The kitchen was also great! Two fridges and two stoves shared between nine people, however there was never a full house due to the current climate. There is also storage available under the bed which was really handy for camping supplies etc. The one main criticism was the timing and frequency of the fire alarms, which were often felt to be too frequent, and too late at night.

The rooms are of a decent size with ensure facilities. The issue is sharing with randoms who have no respect for the shared kitchen or the property of others. There appears to be no mechanism to ensure that your property is protected so perhaps consideration of locking units would be good. The locale is spot on and the communal area which has a pool table, darts board and sofa areas are well maintained. The circuit laundry is expensive though very convenient. On the whole I would recommend the university accommodation if you can get the en-suite room.

Recently, there was a fire near the accommodation, and the reception staff showed no concern for students who were standing outside in the cold wearing just slippers. The fire wasn’t even in the neighboring building—it was on the next street. While the fire doors could have prevented any real danger, the reception staff could have allowed an extra 5–10 minutes for students to get dressed properly—but they didn’t seem to care at all. Additionally, the accommodation remains very cold during the winter. There is also a constant strange smell in the toilet. To make matters worse, there is a lady with pink hair who is consistently rude.

Absolutely every dealing I've had with Student Roost has been excellent. My first born is going to Uni this year and we chose Student Roost. The accommodation is clean, fresh and modern. There are loads of social spaces and the flat and bedroom is roomy. The staff have all been awesome too. Would definitely recommend
