I have lived here for 3 years now and the team here have always made me feel welcome. Reception staff are always happy to help, whether that's fixing an issue, having a chat and cheering you up, or explaining anything that is unclear with ongoing works. Any problems are dealt with efficiently and effectively, and with a positive attitude. With lots of events on throughout each month, its great trying new things and meeting new people. It makes staying in a new city much less scary. Mealmarket Exchange itself is a perfect location between city centre and aberdeen uni with plenty amenities nearby such as food stores or takeaways. Rooms are a good size with great space to study and plenty of storage. Ensuite bathrooms included which are decent in size also. I would definitely recommend living here due to location, storage space, and friendly vibes and good communication from all staff members.

lived in mealmarket for 3 years and never had a bad experience. staff are always happy to help with anything and are happy to just have a chit chat. always a clean reception. always a host of events catered to all. so much thought put in to these events and holiday decorations. they also offer various rebooking offers. also a new vending machine in reception which is awesome. would definitely recommend.

I would not recommend living here based on my experience. The ongoing construction has made day-to-day life extremely disruptive. The constant noise and lack of clear communication from management have made it difficult to feel comfortable in what’s supposed to be your home. While we understand that works “need to be carried out,” the impact on residents has not been handled well at all. There have also been basic management issues, such as insufficient bin capacity, which led to overflow and mess before action was finally taken. It shouldn’t take repeated complaints for simple problems like that to be resolved. To make matters worse, despite these ongoing issues being outside of residents’ control, there is still heavy pressure during flat inspections, which feels unfair given the circumstances. Overall, the standard of living during this period has been disappointing, and I wouldn’t choose to live here again.

My grandson has moved into this student accommodation. It’s a very small room, but it looks like it will be enough for him while he’s studying. It also has an en-suite which is fantastic, especially for him as he’s quite fussy about hygiene in bathrooms! It has a shared kitchen & small living-room area within the kitchen. It’s a 5 min walk to the college & has a Morrisons that is also about a 5 min walk. It’s pretty close to the town centre, which is a plus for any of the students hoping to gain employment while studying, cuts out travel time! Great for nights out too.

Mealmarket Exchange is truly a gem in Aberdeen! The staff, especially the reception team, are incredibly welcoming and go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The rooms are spotless and cozy, and the location is unbeatable with everything right on your doorstep. It’s such a vibrant, safe community—I couldn't have asked for a better student experience!
