No Parking, Cold Water and Rent Hikes I lived at The Vista for two years and was a model tenant. Never missed a rent payment never had any damages to my unit and followed all the guidelines. There is never any parking in the parking garage. They tell you that they do not oversell parking passes, but that simply cannot be true. On multiple occasions, I’ve had to park at other apartment complexes in the visitor spots or paid for parking on the road. Management has claimed it is due to the automatic gates, sometimes not working, however, even when they did work, there were constantly vehicles without Vista tags in the parking garage. In the early fall one year, I made a note to management about how my shower was only hot for about 2 minutes and then went to cold water. Management came in stood there for about 30 seconds told me that the hot water was fine and left. I could not get them to stand there for longer than 45 seconds to see how the water would change. They told me they made a note of it to the property manager, and they would get it fixed. After contacting them multiple times it never did get fixed and I just had to take cold showers for the rest of the year. And lastly, the rent hikes. They raised rent almost $200 between years and their reasoning was “to keep up with competitive pricing”. I think that’s pretty crazy to raise rent that much when there are plenty of other places to live in Starkville near campus. Also, The office staff is just nice enough to not be considered blatantly rude. For the price you pay to live here it’s just not worth it.

I would highly recommend NOT living at The Vista. The hallways are straight-up disgusting and clearly not maintained. And if something breaks, don’t expect it to actually get fixed—management just throws a quick, useless patch on it and calls it a day. It’s like putting a Band-Aid on a bullet hole. You’re supposedly paying for amenities, but you won’t actually get them. Need to print something for class? Too bad. The tanning beds have been broken forever, and even after residents ask over and over again, nothing gets done. Management just ignores it. The pool is honestly a health hazard. The water is nasty, and you’re basically risking getting some kind of infection every time you get in. On top of that, they replaced the pool chairs with half the amount we had before, and the ones they did get are a joke—you’d have to be about 4 feet tall to even fit comfortably on them. So unless you’re planning to wake up at 8 AM just to fight for a tiny chair, enjoy sitting on hot concrete next to dirty water. Also, READ YOUR LEASE WORD FOR WORD. It feels like it’s designed to trap college students into fines and fees. They don’t take residents seriously at all and will absolutely push you around because they know most people living here are students. Overall, it’s poorly managed, gross, and honestly feels like a scam. Save yourself the money, stress, and potential infections—live literally anywhere else.

Pros: study rooms, floorplan, interior design, location, kind maintenance team. Cons:promised early move in for recruitment but spots full in seconds, dirty hallways, damaged doors, periodic disrespect shown to residents asking questions, lack of parking, overgrown trees hit windows during storms, malfunctioning gate or sensor caused extensive vehicle damage. Gates often in upright position. Must be okay with many pets and mold trouble spots in hvac.

Recently toured the Vista in Starkville with my soon-to-be college student. I want to give a shout out to the Leasing Agent, Ava Grace, for a very professional and informative tour. She was extremely kind, we felt as if we had known her for years, and she made us feel like family. We feel confident the Vista will be our top choice for living accommodations this fall. Highly recommend!

Parking is horrible. There are only a few strips of guest parking spots and when I have guests come up all the spots are taken by residents.. so it's impossible unless you drive around for an hour and wait for someone to leave! I've called and the lady at the front desk said to try Bulldog burger's parking. It's for customers only.. I'm just about sick and tired of this. I would love for my boyfriend to stay for a night but it's nearly impossible because paid spots are only during day and the guest spots are IMPOSSIBLE!
