The Walk Starkville, starkville-ms

I have lived in Starkville for the last 5 years for my Ph.D. and have lived in different apartments, but I had the best Experience ever in The Walk apartments in my last semester. It’s a brand new apartment, and I lived in a 4-bedroom. They are very clean and very close to campus. I used to walk from there to chemical engineering. I graduated, so I lived there for my last semester. I had a great experience with them. Even the apartment staff are so friendly and helpful. Thank you, Taylor, Alicia, and especially Elizabeth for being so nice and understanding. I would recommend everyone whoever looking for an apartment in Starkville.

I've been staying at The Walk for a while now and I really like it here. Absolutely love the gym!!! The staff are also very friendly and super helpful whenever needed. The apartments themselves are very clean and decently sized. The amenities that are provided are top tier compared to other complexes I've stayed. Great experiences all around! If you are looking for a great place to stay that is also not far from campus, then The Walk is the place to be!

I absolutely loved living here my first year, the staff was great, the amenities were awesome, and great apartment too. This year is my second year and it has gone down hill exponentially. The trash chute is either always broken or smells so bad u can smell it halfway down the hall, it’s almost impossible to get anything fixed that you need, and the staff aren’t as friendly as they used to be. The change in property management caused a lot of important things to be dropped like changing of air filters but they have the closest locked so you can’t do it yourself, this caused my A/C to break while i was gone for two weeks and came back to mold everywhere. I filed several maintenance reports, it took almost a month and a half and me going as far as calling the leasing manager and basically forcing her to fix the issue. I used to recommend living here but now I would steer clear!!!

My daughter signed a lease for the fall of 2026 expecting to attend nursing school at MUW. The lease was signed on a Thursday because there was only one 1 bedroom unit remaining. The following Monday, she was accepted to UMMC nursing school in Jackson. She talked to the manager at The Walk and was told there were several students wanting the apartment. She was also told there would be a penalty of $2050 dollars to get out of the lease and sublet the apartment to someone else. I called the manager hoping that the lease could be canceled as her plans had changed and the ink had barely dried on the lease. And, there were several people waiting for a one bedroom apartment, and the complex was filled. I’m very disappointed in The Walk. I’m sure in the multi page lease that was signed, we agreed to the terms. But, it seems unreasonable to have a “policy” that a lease cannot be canceled four months before school starts when there are several students looking for the exact unit.

I’ve been staying here at The Walk Starkville since August and I have to say I love staying here. I love the benefits of the gym and spa room, not to mention the apartment is so cute. The staff is amazing and I love them so so much. Anytime I’ve had a problem I felt safe enough to tell them and whatever it was and it got solved immediately. I will say it is kind of pricey but to some it’s worth it. The visitor parking lot could definitely be reconstructed because it’s hard to get a park there.
