Maple Hall, newark-nj

Maple is the best residence hall at NJIT. I like the amenities. We have a game room and a club room with cool furniture, big TVs, a kitchen with ice fridges and a pool table. There are study rooms and laundry rooms on each floor which is very useful. I like the range of unit types as well. The staff are okay. I only know Deontae and Jason and they seem cool. They throw events and usually have free food. The few I’ve attended have been calm but I’m more interested in the lifestyle I have living at maple. It’s close to the gym and very spacious. The mail system is also much better than the other hall I lived at. I can get my packages any day of the week.

Alexis at Maple Hall was by far the most helpful and supportive person I’ve met at NJIT. She went above and beyond to assist me, always patient, kind, and professional. Truly outstanding Maple Hall is lucky to have her!

I love Maple Hall. I only started dorming here this year, however, I have been nothing short of how amazing this hall is. The first floor club room is my favorite place to go to destress. The events here are always engaging, and foster a community. Would 10/10 recommend Maple.

First Impression says allot. Beautiful building. Laundry rooms, private and group study rooms. Studio spaces avail to book private sessions. Units include Rooftop kitchen access and a lovely inner courtyard. Everything is spread out nicely. This apt has allot of potential however w/poor management it will not change or get better. Rise Realty & Maple Hall staff ignored emails with valid concerns for days as I was attempting to move in to a unit I was already billed for. The Maple Hall staff was not knowledgeable of basic housing terms of agreement/policy & lacked the ability to provide sufficient resources to new residents moving in. The Rise Co lacks attention to details in emails. Unfortunately, it’s nearly impossible to get someone on the phone from Rise or Maple, including open hours. No call backs after 4 different messages were left w/Rise + Maple answering services and Maple Hall office. Without NJIT Resident Life directors, directly getting involved, there would be zero communication Or resolution with actual adult issues & questions. Their is no assigned personal mailbox with key. You must wait for an email indicating that your mail was sorted/entered by student staff. You do NOT have internet access when first you move in. (You have to wait for your new service provider to contact you first after a few day). So make sure you can afford a hot spot or unlimited data for a week or so. Just know you WILL need to put in effort to expedited a response. It took almost 5 days after being told my u it was ready to actually have it cleaned and ready for move in. It was successful only because NJIT Resident Life Directors had to step in. Before you take the trip there with your belongings, be sure you personally inspect your apartment, regardless what email you get. House Keeping has already earned a reputation for leaving early and marking apartments ready when their not. The term “Resident” = “Tenant”. Whether you live on a college campus in NJ or not, you have most of the same rights by law. Educate yourselves. *Contracts have obligations on both ends. Hopefully 🤞 they find a way to educate the student employees about housing contract terms and on campus housing policy-NJIT and Rise are businesses, if they can’t find responsible adult students willing to do all roles/tasks associated to their title, they shouldn’t be in their paid positions. A solution in resolving communication mishaps, is necessary for these rather simple , yet all too common issues this Summer. For what you pay to live here- it should be running like a cruise ship 🚢

Without a doubt, New Jersey's greatest dorm is Maple Hall! The study area, game room, and foyer are all excellent; they receive a perfect score. My college experience is enhanced by Deontae's events, which unite the community and produce lifelong memories. Strongly advised
