University Garden Apartments, newark-de

My daughter has lived in these apartments for 3 years as a student at UD- in a 3 bedroom in L building and then in a 4 bedroom in D building. The 3 bedroom was very cozy with old hardwood floors. The 4 bedroom in the D building was spacious for the bedroom - each with their own bathroom. The bedrooms were carpeted and gross for me- but the girls didn’t care. These are college kids living their best life- and that doesn’t include keeping carpets shampooed. They are old, and basic- nothing fancy- and not updated - however- the kids love the location and access. As college students - they made the most it. It was perfectly suited. Management recently started an online system for payment and for maintenance and has made maintenance request for repairs much more helpful. Chris - while sometimes seemed difficult to get in touch with- he is responsive and helpful. And easy to work with. The maintenance staff is very friendly and helpful. They have started to update the wall a/c units to split a/c and heat - which is great. Appliances in the 2 different apartments that my daughter was in over the 3 years were functional - not fancy. If there was a problem- staff responded to help. It is close to campus- especially the music building- and lots of music majors live in the complex.

This property offers easy access to the University of Delaware campus, making it an ideal location for students. The combination of exceptional value, safe surroundings, and charming accommodations makes it stand out in the area. What truly sets it apart, though, is the outstanding staff. Special shout out to K. Watts, who goes above and beyond—responsive, professional, and ready to help when needed. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a comfortable and well-managed living experience near UD.

I stayed here with my brother while attending the University of Delaware and our experience living in our apartment was great. We were treated very well by the staff. Our apartment was clean, the area was safe, and we never had any issues. For the price that you are paying for these apartments, we couldn't have found a better place.

My daughter and 3 girlfriends wanted to rent a 4 bedroom here for sophomore year at UD. They had a difficult time getting in touch with these people but finally turned in their applications and spoke with someone about the specifics. After many tries as well as parents trying to reach these people via phone calls, e-mails and visits over a 2 month period it was finally found out the apt they were trying to rent was rented to somebody else. They wasted so much time with this nonsense and are now starting from square one trying to find an apartment. Their website says they treat you like family. I guess they don't like their family. Thanks for nothing. Huge red flags here people.

Wonderful apartment complex! Very spacious apartments with tentative staff. Nice outdoor green space and short walk from University of Delaware and Main St.
