Kirkwood Village Apartments, cedar-rapids-ia

I love the Village staff they are kind and helpful whenever you need it. The village is a very good safe place to stay. I recommend it to anyone going to Kirkwood! The apartments are very nice and spacious and if you ever have any problems maintenance is super quick and always willing to help you out!! I've loved staying at the village and I can't wait to keep making more memories here!

I would never live in this apartment again! The staff is all wrapped up in roommate drama. When it came to my charges on my account, they contacted all my roommates and proceeded to tell them my business. I had to reach out to them to get some information about what was going on. They took all my security deposit for damages that were there before I moved in. They also have no cameras, and when someone took off my back bumper, nothing was done about it. Security is also insanely rude. They will try to come into your apartment and ask to search your bags because they have a "suspicion" that you have alcohol. The security is also always late to their hours, and you will catch them at your local McDonald's or Woody's (gentlemen's club). There are better apartments in the area that have way more respect for college students, and the staff actually has something better to do than get involved with roommate drama.

Underage Son didn’t even sign a lease ( didn’t even receive it by email) and they kept the 400$ deposit for an apartment 8 months out. Extremely shady business. I’d rather be homeless than deal with them. I’d do 0 stars if I could.

Kirkwood village is terrible. The only thing they care about is how much money they can get from you. I rented 2 apartments (at separate times) giving them a second chance. The first apartment was so dirty it took my mother and me 8 hours to clean enough to be livable. Dead bugs, stains in the toilet and bath tub made me sick. Not only that but black MOLD was a constant battle. “ Security” was never helpful they constantly harass you. They do in fact shine flashlight into the back doors and windows when you live on the first floor. Sand volleyball may look fun but security will tell you to stop playing because your being to loud and send everyone home. If you don’t leave you will receive a “ticket” ($150.00). All of the pictures below are from the first day I moved into my second apartment. If you don’t mind paying for harassment and disgusting look living conditions that will cause you to constantly get super sick this is the perfect place for you. Not to mention I was sexually assaulted in their workout facility that has NO cameras and they did NOTHING.Worse place to ever live parents please don’t let your Child live here.

If no stars could be given, that would be my rating. Maintenance is probably the only thing saving the village. The office ladies are so rude, even when you walk in with a simple question and a good attitude. They make you feel like a burden. When moving out, don’t even bother to clean, they’ll charge you for it regardless. I lived in an apartment with three others, and the cost to clean our tiny living room was 425… but after I asked, they told me 325. And then they couldn’t explain where the missing money went properly. I get it’s a student apartment and cheap, but the least they could do is be a little more chipper in the office and keep their records straight. Go somewhere else and save your money.
