I lived here for 2 months (a year ago) and here are my 2 cents: 1. Like other reviewers mentioned, it’s expensive, but not much different from what you’d find in Boston. 2. My main concern was safety. The area is really good, and the entrance requires key access, so random people can’t just walk in. Parcels (mail, not food) are kept in dedicated lockers that can only be accessed with your key. 3. There’s a huge lobby with a coffee machine (works fine one week and doesn’t the next), board games, and a study area (which I used a lot—it’s really nice!). There’s also a well-maintained gym on the ground floor with all the necessary equipment. 4. It’s right next to Star Market, so groceries are super convenient. There’s also a train station nearby. And Dollar store is right next to the building too. 5. Each unit has its own washer and dryer, so no need to go anywhere for laundry. Every floor has a trash room, which is convenient. The only time I saw it get messy was at the end of July, when everyone was moving out and dumping stuff. 6. My biggest issue was the AC. On one weekend it completely stopped working, and I remember everyone was out on the balcony and rooftop because it was unbearably hot. It happened at least once more during my stay, though it was fixed the next day. 7. Oh, the rooftop is beautiful! I’d sometimes go up there to study, and you can even host people for parties. The view is amazing. Overall, I’d give this place a 7.5/10. It’s safe, the apartments have clean kitchens, in-unit laundry, and nice bathrooms. Everything you need is easily accessible, including a free gym. During my time, Azee was at the front desk and he was really kind and helpful. The downsides for me were the cost and the occasional maintenance issues (especially with the AC).

Edit 5/30/26: Had a package stolen on 5/26. Reported it to management who requested proof of shipment. They confirmed my package was stolen at 4am and included a generic response for me to retrieve as soon as possible. Yes, no shit Sherlock! What’s the point of the cameras if they are just to see what time something was stolen? No concern, no service, no action. Been living here since July, 2022 and there have been at least 4 different managers and 2 maintenance teams that have came and left. The issues stated in the other 1 star reviews are absolutely correct and I will add a couple more issues we have experienced here: At one point the elevator smelled like the sewer for a whole week with no proper explanation as to what caused the smell, only an email stating they were working on the issue. After the issue was somewhat fixed (smell was still there) several black steel drums labeled as "Hazardous Waste" with a written description "septic (oil & water) PPE debris" appeared in a space of the parking garage and stayed there for another 2 months 🤢 The current issue now is the trash room (instead of completely replacing the handle to the trash shoot door they did a Mickey Mouse fix by zip tying the handle to the door instead). Currently the door handle is completely gone so the door is just left open now. For the past year I’ve been praying to find another place. I'm done. P.S. They also store new furniture in the parking garage which also includes the garbage bins, so the smell from all that garbage juice funk gets absorbed into the fabric of the furniture and your car!

The experience living at 1047 Commonwealth has been nothing short of a nightmare. From broken AC units that were never properly fixed. Caused extremely hot room temperature during the summer and freezing cold during the winter. And packages getting stolen from the mailroom, this place has been a constant headache. The garage has ongoing water leakage problems, and despite repeated complaints, nothing was done to address it. On top of that, the management is absolutely terrible. Communication is nonexistent, and when it comes time to move out, they conveniently find ways to keep your deposit money without any clear justification. It’s clear that management doesn’t care about the tenants or the condition of the property. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone there are far better options out there.

Terrible Building Management, they are rude and out to make money, not to accommodate your needs. Super slow Wifi that was not addressed for years the whole building had really spotty wifi that wasn't good for anything over browsing the web, multiple complaints that were ignored for years until it started cutting into their profits. HVAC down multiple times in the summers there were a few days where the AC broke in the summer and it was unlivable in the room. Terrible parking situation Parking spots cost a car payment and they are so narrow you can barely open the door to get in or out. hope you don't get assigned the middle spot because they are a few inches narrower on each side for the same cost. Because they made 3 parking spots when there is only room for 2, management has deemed that It's not enough that you park within the narrow lines, you must make additional room for others. They will threaten to revoke your parking if there is a conflict No Security at all Super easy to get through the front door, sometimes it's left wide open. Front door is always stuffed with doordash orders and packages. Neglected Amenities There are no staff that maintain the amenities. The outdoor grills are never cleaned, there is no one maintaining the gym, delivery room is a mess, the rooftop fire table has never been turned on before. Trash issue The building has a small trash room on each floor. I consistently see bags of garbage on the ground, stinking up the room, its disgusting to be inside. btw they raffle gift cards to people who give them good reviews If you're looking for a luxury apartment close to BU, this ain't it chief. Not this owner, not this management company.

With no security, the apartment constantly has people break in late at night and when the residents report the questions to the management, no one takes any action. I DON'T FEEL SAFE WHILE this whole building are studio with people living by themselves. Also, we had a water leakage problem two days ago with water flooding the lobby and also the 2nd and 3rd floor. Some of the residents have to move out. The biggest problem is that the management does not respond to problems quickly. However, not all the staff members are like this. Most of them are nice, but just when it comes to the higher level of staff members, they just ignore the problem that the apartment exists.
