At first, living here was quite enjoyable. However, over time, we’ve encountered several challenges that we believe are worth mentioning—especially considering the rent is $1,000 for a 4B4B unit. First, the internet connection has consistently been poor. Despite repeatedly communicating this issue with Mia, there hasn’t been any meaningful improvement. Second, the walls are extremely thin, which affects our privacy. Third, I once mopped my floor and discovered that the water leaked into the basement ceiling—clearly a structural concern. Fourth, the heater wasn’t turned on starting in the fall, and the air conditioning in my unit has been far too cold to bear. Fifth, our refrigerator has not been working properly since January. While maintenance has tried to fix it several times, the issue persists. It’s been exhausting to deal with this repeatedly, and we've had to share refrigerator space with a friend to store basic groceries. Sixth, the washing machine is unusually noisy. While it’s still functioning, the sound suggests something might be wrong. Seventh, there seems to be inconsistency in the quality of furnishings and amenities across different units. For instance, some apartments have window views while others do not, and there are noticeable differences in the quality of bathroom doors, mattresses, bed frames, and even office chairs. Yet we all pay the same amount in rent. Lastly, I am not comfortable when maintenance worker brag in to our house without knocking our door at first, like because Mia has the key, they just come inside like that. Even tough we already let them in, but still, respect us a little bit by knocking the door first. Mia is lovely person, I really adore her. But, things like knocking door and try to let us to open door for you in instead of you come inside by yourself to our house, is a dealbreaker for me”. That said, I truly appreciate Mia and David’s efforts to accommodate our concerns, and Dr. Shivan’s warm welcome during the orientation was memorable. These gestures meant a lot to us. However, unless there are significant improvements to the facility, I would hesitate to recommend this housing option to future students. For $1,015, there are more competitive housing options available in Baltimore. Despite these challenges, I’ve genuinely enjoyed my time here thanks to the wonderful friends I’ve made. As we approach graduation, some of us are exploring other housing options that better match our needs and budget.

I lived here for two years. First year, we had to deal with the pests and second year the growing pains became internet connectivity. The walls are also very thin even after they did some work on it. I can tell you that students in this building are treated poorly by the management especially in the way requests were handled which I think was intentional because international students were in the majority here. You can find more affordable homes with better offerings in the area. The only good thing going in for them is Mia in the maintenance office.

A good place to live as a graduate student who spends most of their time at school or studying in cafés. Must be very close to the Bloomberg School of Public Health, furnished, and with no additional costs
