If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Also, a good amount of the 5 star reviews were created by people who work at stadium view, so don’t let those fool you. To start out, this place has crazy potential. The units are nice, the location is decent, and the people who work here (excluding management and maintenance) are fantastic. The only reason this apartment isn’t thriving is because of the braindead management team. Firstly, whoever runs this place decided it would be a good idea to hire 15 front desk sorority women (who are super sweet and helpful), but only 2 total maintenance people. One of the 2 maintenance guys is a student, which makes his schedule very limited. I’ve asked numerous times if they are hiring more maintenance guys and every time they say no. It’s baffling to me how every single person I’ve talked to that lives here has maintenance issues but they do nothing to change. I have had issues with about every appliance in this place (which is bound to happen), and every time it takes weeks to be addressed. We were without a dishwasher for a whole month because the maintenance crew didn’t take us seriously and told us incorrect and conflicting information. Every time I attempt to speak with a maintenance person directly, I am brushed off as if I don’t know what I’m talking about. The most words I’ve heard Patrick (the head maintenance guy) speak were about fishing. If you ever try to talk to him about issues you are having he will make you feel like a fool. Shows 0 concern or care for the issues you may be having. We actually had submitted a maintenance request at one point and someone closed it without stepping foot into my apartment, let alone addressing the issue The building is filthy. There is trash everywhere, stains on every square inch of the interior concrete, and a stench is in most buildings that resembles that of human urine. It would literally take two phone calls to have this place cleaned up but apparently whoever manages this place has such a hard job that she can’t seem to find the time to actually do what she was hired to do. There are leaks in the roof that haven’t been addressed in years (I was told this by the student maintenance guy), and a plethora of other issues with this place. It’s way too expensive for off campus housing and for sure not worth the hassle. DONT LIVE HERE IF YOU CAN HELP IT

I lived in apartment 1214 unit 304 for a year. I am a very clean and tidy person and took best care of my unit during my residence there, and honestly I expected a much smoother experience when moving out. Instead, I’m now dealing with completely unfair charges that I should not be responsible for. The carpet in my unit was already damaged and dirty the day I moved in — I even went to the property management office and told them about it, and nothing was ever done. I had to live with it the entire time. Now they’re trying to charge me for replacing it!! Instead of taking accountability for pre-existing issues and normal cleaning, they’re shifting the blame onto tenants. If you’re considering renting here, make sure you document everything at move-in, because apparently they won’t. I do not recommend this place based on how they handle move-out charges.

I am almost at the halfway point of living at Stadium View Suites and wanted to share my thoughts so far. I am posting this on an alternative account because I prefer not to share my name with six months left on my lease. My experience here has included both positive and negative aspects, so I will outline them in this review. First, the negatives of living at Stadium View Suites so far. Negatives: -The walls and doors are extremely thin. Expect to hear everything coming from the living room and other bedrooms. I have loud roommates who have no regard for noise, and the walls and 2 inch gap between the bedroom door and the floor do very little to block it out. This can be frustrating when trying to sleep or study. -My bedroom was not clean when I moved in. This included a dirty bathroom mirror, stains on the carpet, a toilet seat stained with urine, and a shower that also had stains. -The building hallways often smell like animal urine and could really use a deep cleaning to remove the odor. -Apartment appliances are outdated and frequently have issues that require submitting maintenance requests. -The apartment gym is very small and has limited working equipment, which I understand may not matter to everyone. -Rent is a bit expensive compared to some other floor plans offered by leasing companies around Ames. This is subjective and depends on what you value. -I had to pay for a full month of rent even though I moved in on the nineteenth of the month. -Simple bills, the utility company provider who bills you is absolutely awful. Now for the positives. Positives: -The rooms are spacious, with a nice walk in closet and a private bathroom with a sliding barn door. -The apartment staff are friendly, communicate well, and genuinely try to make residents feel at home. -There are frequent community events, which are really fun and a great way to meet people. -Maintenance has been quick and responsive whenever we have had issues in the apartment. -Parking is free in the general area behind the buildings. Reserved parking directly in front of the building is available for twenty dollars per month, which is a good deal. -There is a bus stop right outside that takes you to campus or toward the shopping area in east Ames. -The complex is pet friendly, which is great for anyone with animals. -As the name suggests, it has a stadium view and is within walking distance of Jack Trice Stadium. -There are designated outdoor areas for pets to use. -The four by four units include two refrigerators, which is extremely convenient and appreciated. Here is a clean concluding paragraph that balances both sides without adding new points. Overall, my experience living at Stadium View Suites has been a mix of both good and bad. While there have been frustrating issues such as noise, cleanliness at move in, and outdated appliances, there are also many positives that make living here enjoyable. The spacious rooms, friendly staff, quick maintenance, and convenient location near campus and the stadium are definite highlights. Stadium View Suites may be a great fit for some people, especially depending on roommates and personal priorities, but it is not without its drawbacks. I think it is important for anyone considering living here to weigh both the positives and negatives to decide if it is the right place for them.

I was in building 1214 this last year and actually loved the location of my building. It’s right next to the general parking lot so there’s no need to pay extra for the reserved parking (but it is nice to have the option!) I was also placed in a 4x4 which I know isn’t everyone’s first option having more roommates… BUT Stadium View’s 4x4s have 2 fridges and it’s not something you realize is a luxury until you have it. Sharing a fridge with 1 person compared to 3 other people is a big difference. Plus you have your own private bed/bathroom and walk-in closet so having 3 roommates isn’t overbearing. The last thing I’ll compliment is the staff :) I may be biased but I’ve loved every experience I’ve had with the different staff members at SVS and both managers, Jacque and Bailey are very helpful. I always just pop in the office or call when I have a question and even if they don’t have an answer for me right away, they make sure to follow up when they find the answer! I really recommend Stadium View, and I’ll be sad to leave it after my time at college is up.

I lived in this apartment complex for a year, and it was by far the worst renting experience I’ve ever had. Our washer broke and it took them over a week to fix it. The General Manager, Jackie, was especially difficult to work with, her attitude was unprofessional and dismissive every time we tried to address issues. She yelled at me on the phone and basically told me I was the problem, and wasn’t properly washing my clothes. The biggest problem, though, was the cockroach infestation. Our apartment was spotless, yet we dealt with German cockroaches for two entire months. It was a building-wide issue and even our appliances were infested. Despite repeatedly asking for help, they only sent an exterminator twice, and the problem never fully went away. The building constantly reeked of marijuana. It was so strong that the pipes and even the water smelled like it. They put on flashy events and giveaways to make the place seem great, but behind the scenes, it isn’t being maintained. The workers are great, however their manager was not. When we moved out, they charged my roommate and me $300 in damages that were already there when we moved in, left by previous tenants. They advertise rent deals and signup bonuses, but trust me, they will find ways to get that money back from you later. Save yourself the stress. This place is not worth it.
