About this property
Some student residences promise everything, but what really matters is how they fit into your everyday routine. Redgate Nottingham gets the basics right. You'll have modern accommodation, useful social spaces, somewhere quiet to study, and a location that keeps the city within easy reach. It strikes a balance between independent living and community life, making it an appealing choice whether you're arriving in Nottingham for your first year or continuing your degree.
Located on Traffic Street, Redgate student accommodation in Nottingham places you close to universities, public transport and many of the places students visit most during the week. Grocery shopping, grabbing a coffee before lectures, heading to the gym or catching a train home can all become part of a routine that doesn't involve lengthy journeys across the city.
University life has a habit of settling into its own rhythm after the first few weeks. Lectures, coursework, part-time jobs and evenings with friends soon fill the calendar, so having accommodation that supports that routine makes a noticeable difference.
Redgate has been designed around that idea. Residents can choose between en-suite rooms within shared apartments or fully self-contained studios, depending on how they prefer to live. Shared kitchens naturally become places where flatmates cook together or unwind after classes, while private studios offer more independence for students who enjoy having their own space.
The building also offers plenty beyond the room itself. Dedicated study areas provide somewhere to work without leaving home, while communal facilities encourage residents to switch off after lectures and get to know other students living in the building. Combined with an on-site team and round-the-clock support, Redgate creates an environment where students can focus on university while feeling settled throughout the year.

One of the first things you'll notice about living here is how connected everything feels. Nottingham city centre is close enough that everyday errands rarely require much planning, and many popular student destinations are only a short walk or bus journey away.
Morning coffee is easy to find thanks to the cafés around Traffic Street, while Sainsbury's nearby takes care of grocery shopping without needing to travel across the city. If you're eating out, Fothergills is one of the well-known local restaurants nearby, and there are plenty of other independent cafés and eateries scattered around the surrounding streets.
The social side of Nottingham is equally accessible. Canalhouse and The Southbank Bar are popular meeting spots for students after lectures, while Riverside Retail Park offers convenient shopping for everything from everyday essentials to larger purchases during the academic year.
When coursework starts piling up, Nottingham Central Library gives you another quiet place to study outside your room. If staying active is part of your routine, PureGym Nottingham Castle Marina is also nearby, making it easier to fit workouts around lectures. Victoria Embankment offers a welcome escape from busy university life, particularly during warmer months when students head there for walks, picnics or simply a change of scenery.
Travelling around the city is straightforward thanks to Nottingham Railway Station and the nearby railway station bus stop. Whether you're commuting to campus, heading to placements or travelling home during university breaks, you'll have convenient transport options close to the property.
Every student has different priorities when choosing accommodation. Some want a sociable atmosphere, others value privacy, while many simply want somewhere that makes university life easier. Redgate manages to combine all three.

I’ve really enjoyed staying at this student accommodation. The staff at reception are super friendly and always willing to help, which makes things so much easier. The building is kept very clean, and whenever something needs fixing, the maintenance team responds quickly. There are also plenty of great facilities like a gym to work out after uni, a cinema room and pool table to relax and hang out with friends, plus free washers and dryers, which is a huge bonus. The location is very convenient too, it’s only about a 10-minute walk to the railway station, close to bus stops for uni, and Tesco is nearby for groceries. Overall, it’s a comfortable, well-managed place with everything you need. Definitely a good place to live as a student

Hello, This accommodation fitted perfectly well with my immediate needs. I am a new mother and deferred my final year. I am back this year to finish off 2 modules and a dissertation but can only stay temporarily due to my child in London. The urgency of my course meant I had to find an immediate accommodation for a few weeks. This was the perfect one. I remained respectful and enjoyed my stay. Despite this, 2 weeks into my stay my fiancé and 5 month old girl came to visit and booked a separate bnb north of Nottingham. I stayed with them for the few days until they had to leave. My partner drove up and therefore offered to offload some of my luggage with him to London. I am, now, aware that the building holds a strict no under 18 policy. After his stay, I took my partner and my child back to my accommodation to transfer some luggage and goods. This here is very important, before we went in, there were 3 members of staff outside who saw us blindly go in without a warning. (In retrospect I wish I knew the rule more apparently and how severe it was). We proceeded to head to my room to offload. This transaction was NO longer than AN HOUR. After heading back out we were then greeted by one of the SAME MEMBERS OF STAFF we saw outside. It looked as though he had been waiting for us. He then asked us if we were staying here. I proceeded to say yes and that my family had only been here an hour. He then went into the same lift with us and threatened us that it was a strict under 18 policy at all times in the building. At this point we both realised the error of our ways and apologised about the debacle and headed out, as we originally planned, seeing as my family were off back to London. This same staff member seemed to go straight to reception without a word to us or forewarning of what was to come. Minutes later. After my family departed and were likely mid drive, I was hit with an email ordering me to shorten my stay and leave tomorrow. To make things even WORSE I get another, shortening it to tonight! As if I have anywhere else to go! What i can respect is a breach of policy, this is a complete oversight on my behalf and I apologise. What i cannot respect is this member of staff, who clear as day saw us blindly walking into the accommodation, not warning us or asking my family to politely leave. Hell, a phone call or a knock on the door would have done. To then have this staff member waiting outside in a GOTCHA fashion and immediately ordering my stay to be shortened without any forewarning is appalling. I cannot believe the absolute incompetence shown here. I did not have my family stay for hours, or nights OR WEEKS. I did not have them visit on SEVERAL occasions. It was this once, an hour max and we were allowed to go in, in front of 3 staff members mind you, who knew full well they could remedy the situation. Instead, one chooses to let us exact the fate he wants in order to recieve punishment. Punishment, mind you, which has put a complete spanner in the works for my course, potentially ruined my hopes for a complete dissertation as I have no place else to stay at this short notice and which leaves me with potentially no degree! I am this close to finishing my course, have been nothing but grateful and respectful of the accommodation and am INCREDIBLY disappointed at how things have turned out!

I’m really happy with my experience at Redgate. The reception has been so kind and supportive. A special thanks to Martha for always replying to my emails so quickly, even before I moved in. The location is great too, just about 10 minutes to the tram, which makes getting around very easy. I also love that the rooms have their own washer and dryer . It is such a big advantage and makes life so much more comfortable. Overall, I couldn’t be more satisfied with my room and the service here.
