About this property
Chapter Kings Cross is a 16-storey student residence on Pentonville Road, London N1 9JP - in Zone 1, a 5-minute walk from King's Cross St Pancras. It's run by Chapter, one of the UK's larger student accommodation operators, and houses over 900 students across studios, ensuites and twin rooms. If you want central London with minimal commute time, this is one of the better-located options in the city.
This page covers everything you need to decide: where it actually is, what's included in the rent, which universities it suits, real student reviews, and photos of the rooms and communal spaces - not just the marketing pitch.
Chapter Kings Cross sits at 200 Pentonville Road, London N1 9JP, about 2.17 miles from London's city centre. It's a 5-minute walk from King's Cross St Pancras, which puts six Underground lines and Eurostar services to mainland Europe within easy reach - useful if you're going home for the weekend or just want easy access to the rest of London.
The immediate area (King's Cross / Pentonville Road) has shifted a lot over the last decade - it's now home to Coal Drops Yard, the British Library, and a dense cluster of student housing, so you're not isolated even outside term-time crowds.
Here's what's actually on-site, not just listed:
Gym and yoga studio - on-site, included in your rent, no separate membership
Cinema room - for film nights or watching matches with flatmates
Games room - pool tables and a social lounge
Study rooms and library space - separate from your room, for when you need a change of scene
Landscaped courtyard - outdoor space, rare for a Zone 1 building
Bi-weekly room cleaning - included, not an add-on
24/7 on-site security - CCTV, key-fob entry, and a parcel collection service
Chapter Club access - your resident pass also gets you into events and social spaces at Chapter's other 14 London properties
Nando's on-site - at street level, if you don't feel like cooking
Bills included in rent: water, electricity, gas, heating, and Wi-Fi. No separate utility bills to manage.
If you're choosing accommodation based on which campus you need to reach, here's where it sits:
University College London
UCL: - around a 10-minute tube or bus ride
University of the Arts London - (Central Saint Martins) - a 5–10 minute walk
University of London - easily accessible via the King's Cross transport hub
London Metropolitan University- within easy reach
SOAS and Birkbeck are also well served from this location
Neighbourhood: What's Actually Around You
Supermarkets: Waitrose and Tesco, both within a 5-minute walk
Green space: Regent's Canal, for a walk to Camden Market or just to get outside
Culture: the British Library and the Wellcome Collection are both nearby
Shopping/food: Coal Drops Yard, a short walk from the building
Nightlife: Scala (live music venue) and the bars around Clerkenwell and Angel
It's a genuinely well-connected part of London for students - busy, but not so loud that you can't get work done.
22 room configurations in total, grouped here by type. Full pricing and availability is on the booking widget above - these change with demand, so treat the numbers below as a starting reference.

Real feedback from people who've actually stayed here, published as it comes in - including the negative ones. Below you'll find reviews covering things like room quality, the cleaning service, parcel handling, and how the on-site team deals with issues. If you're trying to decide between Chapter Kings Cross and a nearby alternative, this is usually more useful than anything in the marketing copy above.
Students at UCL, UAL, SOAS, or Birkbeck who want a short, simple commute
Anyone who wants their own space - the studio tiers give you a private kitchen and bathroom, no flatmate logistic
Students who'll actually use a gym - it's on-site and included, not a 20-minute trek to a separate facility
International students who want a managed, secure building with 24/7 on-site staff
Budget-conscious twin-room sharers - the Twin Studio option is the cheapest way into this location
It's less suited to students who want a quiet, low-key residential feel - this is a big, busy building in one of the most central parts of student accommodation london, and it reads that way.
Chapter Kings Cross earns its price tag on location and inclusions - Zone 1, a 5-minute walk from a six-line interchange, all bills included, and facilities (gym, cinema, study rooms, courtyard) that most central London buildings don't have room for. The trade-off is that it's a large, high-occupancy building, so it suits students who want to be in the middle of things rather than those after a quieter setup. If that's you, it's a strong shortlist option for UCL, UAL, SOAS and Birkbeck students in particular

I recently visited Chapter King’s Cross and had a very positive experience. Initially, I stopped by to ask if I could use the toilet, and a member of staff named Zawdie kindly agreed without hesitation. While there, I commented on how beautiful and well-presented the reception area was, and asked if it would be possible to have a look around. Zawdie was extremely accommodating and took the time to show me the accommodation. The rooms were impressively clean, modern, and well-maintained, reflecting a high standard throughout the property. At the end of the tour, I was pleasantly surprised to be given a “dig in” bag, which was a thoughtful and generous touch. Overall, I found both the facilities and the customer service to be excellent, and I would highly recommend Chapter King’s Cross based on this experience.

I have a very positive experience living at Chapter Kings Cross. The location is excellent as It is close to St Pancras International, which makes travel very easy, and it is also within walking distance of my university. The staff make a real difference. Doreen, in particular, is outstanding. She handles any issues I have quickly and professionally. The wider team is consistently responsive and helpful, which makes day-to-day living smooth and stress-free. The building is well managed, and the environment feels safe and organised. Any problems are dealt with efficiently, which is exactly what you want when living in a student accommodation.

I recently went to view the accommodation @ Chapter Kings Cross. I was greeted warmly by Zawdie (I hope I spelt your name right!) I was given an informative tour by him and shown around. He was very professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable! The standards are kept HIGH here and everything looks new/well kept and clean! | was even given a goodie bag FULL of treats! Thank you again Zawdie, hope to see you soon!

I had a great stay at the Chapter Hotel King’s Cross! The staff were extremely friendly, and the room was comfortable and quiet (mine overlooked the solar panels, so there was no noise from the neighbors and very little from the street, which was great). The room was clean when I arrived, except for some stains on the chairs and curtains, but they seemed ingrained, so nothing serious. The bed was very comfortable, and having a kitchenette in the room was very convenient, especially since I don’t always enjoy eating out. As for improvements, I think it would be nice to have a small bedside lamp next to the beds, so I could read or relax in the evening without turning on the main light. And maybe adding a colander in the kitchen would be useful. Otherwise, for the price and location, it’s perfect! I highly recommend it for your stay in London—the common areas are also great. — Maia
