I have rented 2 different apartments with Benson and both times they have been amazing. You can tell that management actually cares about their tenets. Everyone at Benson has always been super polite and helpful and they are also very quick to respond to questions and maintenance requests. Rent prices are fair for the area and with how much work Benson puts into their properties to keep them nice for tenets, it is definitely worth it. I recommend renting through Benson to all of my friends in the area because it has been such a good experience.

Benson Management offers well-maintained, nice apartments that are conveniently located and generally comfortable to live in. However, I feel it's important to note a recurring issue that affects many tenants, especially college-aged students, regarding security deposits. Despite leaving the apartment in good condition and following move-out procedures, I and several others I know were charged excessive fees. Some were warranted, but over half was not. This feels like a pattern that takes advantage of students who may be less experienced with lease agreements or lack the time/resources to contest charges. I contacted Kelly about the mix up. At first I corrected her math and she apologized politely, but then I proceeded to ask her follow on questions and a week later still no response. If you're considering renting with Benson, be sure to document the condition of the apartment thoroughly at move-in and move-out, and ask for itemized explanations of any charges to your deposit. The apartments are nice, but the deposit return process could definitely be more transparent. In response: I did not break both blinds. I have pictures of the bedroom blinds when I moved in. That’s why I wasn’t charged for both.

Would not recommend renting from Benson. We lived in a Benson unit for 2 years. In that time our A/C never blew cold after requesting to get it fixed, went months without a dishwasher because it was never repaired. We had extremely high utility bills because the heat had to run constantly due to extremely poor insulation. Mold grew in our bathrooms due to poor ventilation and we dealt with constant ant infestation during warm months. On top of that they charged $1,500 over our security deposit and threatened to file a police report for “criminal damages” even though the apartment was left in roughly the same shape as it was when we moved in. There are much better options in the area to rent from.

So far so good. Started renting with Benson in June of this year and it is already wayyyyy better than my last landlord. I'm paying a bit more, and parking is an additional fee, but I am so much happier with them thus far. There is still lots of time to see how things change, but so far Benson has been a good landlord.

Do not rent with Benson. Our place was close to spotless and they took our security deposit along with charging us almost $3,000 more dollars in cleaning fees. If you don’t take pictures and videos of everything before you move in they will bleed you dry with cleaning fees. I was warned before I rented with them and sure enough it happened. I would not recommend!!!
