LUX on Capitol, indianapolis-in

this is a terrible place to live. the hallways always smell like garbage, because the trash chutes are broken/full at all times. trash is built up in the hallways for days at a time. the fire alarms frequently malfunction, causing them to go off for 15-20 minutes with no follow up from staff. this is very unsafe, because tenants are never sure if it’s an ACTUAL emergency, or just the cheap system. the new manager, morgan hudson, is a joke. she always has a rude expression on her face and has never been helpful. the parking garage gate is always broken, and takes weeks to get repaired. my roommate last year got her car broken into while it was parked at the lux garage, and the lux simply told her they can’t do anything about it. The doors that separate the parking garage from each floor are broken/left open ALL THE TIME. You may think this isn’t a big deal (since you need a key fab to enter the main part of the building) but everytime it rains, massive puddles form in the hallways that sit there for days until they dry up on their own. the mold in the lux has to be INSANE. I can smell mildew in the stairwells. I had an amazon package (80 dollars worth of groceries) get stolen from the front desk, after security signed for it. I went to the front desk and told them about my situation, and they told me that since it was delivered after hours (8pm) that they were not responsible. The amazon driver took a photo of the box on the lux front desk, and put a note that it was handed to security. I never got reimbursed or any help in finding my package that the lux lost. I feel sorry for anyone who has been screwed over by this apartment complex. I have attached photos that were taken in a 2 MONTH span, of all the issues i found at the lux. the needles laying around the property are an especially nice touch in my opinion.

If you’re looking to live downtown in a nice luxury apartment, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. If you are looking for a place where the hallways always smell like trash and are filled with it as well, the elevators have garbage, and the parking garage lever is always broken— allowing anybody into the garage, Lux is for you! On top of those features, you are also able to make a maintenance request on appliances that are constantly breaking but they won’t be fixed until they come to “repair” them for the 5th time! Also, you get to shower in FREEZING cold water because maintenance won't care about that either… Charges that you don't even know where they came from are also available here, and when you ask for a refund its only able to be returned as credit on your account. The ONLY reason i'm giving them 2 stars is because in person, the front desk staff is pleasant, however, over the phone them and management are very condescending. You will also not be informed of when youre getting a new roommate, and come home to random strangers with no warning. Below are pictures of the lux that they wont show on social media because they actually post different apartments on their page!

DO NOT MOVE HERE. I lived here last year and it was terrible. For almost $1,000 a month, I should not have had to deal with mice and cold showers all year, but the maintenance team and property management did not take anything seriously even after multiple complaints about both. I scrubbed my bathroom spotless before moving out and was charged a vague $40 "light cleaning fee" for my bathroom. They are just taking advantage of college students who they don't think will push back, but I am/have been over their unprofessionalism and laziness. It is clear that when you move out, they will pick at everything they can that should be considered routine maintenance. Do. Not. Move. Here.

Valid stay sad to see these reviews still at 2 stars I think they’ve changed very well since being a student housing. They gotta fix those cue balls at the pool table tho!!!

Been here since school started. Been a great experience so far! Even saw that guy Daniel’s cool tour on Purdues Instagram!
