The Chelsea, hattiesburg-ms

My apartment tour guide cinnamon green was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made the entire tour feel comfortable and stress-free. I really appreciated how patient and informative they were, and they made sure I understood all the details about the apartment and amenities. Overall, it was a great experience and definitely made me feel confident about choosing this place.

Living at this apartment complex has been extremely disappointing. Maintenance is unreliable and slow, and many issues are either ignored entirely or take an unreasonable amount of time to be addressed. Maintenance requests are submitted, but follow-up and actual repairs are inconsistent at best. I specifically requested pest control for roaches, and despite reporting the issue, no one has shown up. This is a basic health and sanitation concern, and the lack of urgency from management is unacceptable. The overall condition of the unit reflects this lack of care. Appliances and fixtures are poorly maintained, and cleanliness and livability clearly aren’t a priority unless it benefits management. For the amount of rent being charged, this level of neglect is unacceptable. On top of that, additional fees are added to rent without clear explanation, which feels misleading and unprofessional. Despite these ongoing problems, management still has the nerve to push lease renewals instead of addressing existing issues. I would not recommend this complex to anyone looking for responsive management, transparency, or a well-maintained place to live. Do thorough research before signing a lease here.

I have been living at The Chelsea for a year now and it is such a peaceful property to live on. Richard, the property manager is always kind and works hard to make sure I feel safe and at home in my community!

The last year that I have lived here has been like living in a frat house that I am not a part of. Roommate selection is good but the amount of insane driving, litter, and violations of posted quiet times leads me to believe that the Chelsea is not interested in applying its own rules to tenants. I assume there were cuts to the maintenance staff because it has gotten much worse this year. The workers are very helpful and nice, however it takes forever to get anything done. If you are deciding between a dorm and the Chelsea, and you’re worried that the dorm will have younger students who don’t know how to share a “community” don’t pick the Chelsea, because they are not interested in maintaining a community.

I’ve been living here for almost 3 years, and it’s now become my new home away from home. The office staff, including Mr. Richard always ensure we are all well taken care of!
