My daughter is preparing to move out of her Abode rental. As we were moving out, we discovered mold under her rug and on the bottom side of her boxspring that was on an on a bed frame. The bathroom also had to be cleaned frequently of mold. Her room and bathroom were located in the basement. Four dehumidifiers were running constantly. This information was recently brought to Abode’s attention so I am hoping I can give them a better review if this is taken care of and the girls, that are living in the house, aren’t charged for things that have gone wrong with this place that has been no fault of theirs. I will post again soon!

This is my first time renting alone, and I have had the best experience. Every maintenance request I have put in has been tended to almost immediately and they do a wonderful job. All of the staff I have met over the last year have been very friendly. I am really happy with Abode properties and I highly recommend them to others.

Renting from Abode Properties was easily one of the most frustrating, disappointing, and infuriating experiences I’ve ever had. From the very beginning, communication was abysmal. I reached out six separate times—via calls, texts, voicemails, and emails—just to get a response during the lease-signing process. That lack of professionalism set the tone for everything that followed. The house they rented to us was never properly inspected before we moved in. It was filled with damages—none of which we caused—but we were still charged for all of it when we moved out. They even tacked on bogus charges like the house being “filthy” or the lawn not being mowed, despite me having photo proof showing the place was clean and maintained. It’s like they were just looking for excuses to squeeze more money out of us. Maintenance was a nightmare. Four times the furnace went out during the middle of winter, and getting them to send someone was a struggle every time. We’d wake up to 55-degree temperatures, and somehow, they’d blame us for it. It was the same story with our only shower in the house—it was unusable for over two months because of drainage issues that Abode ignored. They even claimed someone came to fix it, but we were home at the time and no one ever showed up. To make things worse, the house didn't have a deadbolt on the front door, which led to our home being broken into and robbed. The police clearly stated that the lack of a proper lock made it easy for someone to break in, and despite thousands of dollars in stolen and damaged items, Abode did absolutely nothing. Not even the bare minimum of adding a lock after the fact. They consistently shifted blame to us as tenants and never took responsibility for anything. I’ve never dealt with such an unprofessional company that seems so disconnected from basic human decency, let alone legal standards. To top it off, when I went to sign with a different rental company in Eau Claire, I mentioned I had rented from Abode. Their response? "I hope you had a better experience than the many tenants who switched to us because of how awful Abode is." That says it all. If you’re considering renting from Abode Properties, do yourself a favor and look literally anywhere else. They care only about taking your money and couldn’t care less about you as a tenant or a person. I would never recommend them to anyone. Below I attached pictures of what the lawn looked like when I left at move out and to Abode that is considered not mowed and not trimmed. I would personally love to know what Abode considers mowed and trimmed!

If I could zero stars, I would. I lived in a house provided by Abode for a year, and had so many issues. Let’s start with the owner, I believe to be Kelly? She’s extremely unprofessional and will shift the blame onto the tenants to get out of playing for damages. My room, had a horrible issue with mold and mildew. They provided dehumidifiers, in which one was broken and attempted to blame my roommates and I for it. Going further, my former roommate has mold growing that I’m sure will be blamed on them rather than the lack of proper ventilation. I’ve learned my lesson, and I hope others will not rent from them as it will only cause more and more charges that aren’t needed. I’m currently renting from University Area Housing, and it puts abode to shame. ‼️ RENT ANYWHERE ELSE. THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF COLLEGE STUDENTS‼️

If I could give zero stars I would. Rent is way too high for what you get and it’s honestly stressful trying to keep up with it, especially since they charge it as one payment for all tenants which makes everything more complicated. They took over halfway through our lease and honestly, I miss the previous management a lot. Things went downhill after that. Maintenance is basically nonexistent. You put in requests and either hear nothing back or wait forever for a half fixed job. Communication is terrible too. It feels like once they have your money they just stop caring. Overall just a frustrating experience and I wouldn’t recommend renting from them at all.
